Yes, even with a super low expectation for it legs, less than 200k lifetime would be too low.

Splatoon probably got that boost on Comg because the bundle sold out last week and people that want to play that game got no choice but to buy the game alone, plus the shiro console or mario maker bundle.

As far as I can tell, there are still some units of the Splatoon Set on shelves on various stores of Tokyo. This is from yestarday at Bic Camera Hachioji. Also the Kojima store on Rakuten had a little re-stock of it.

I mean, yes it's sold out, but not as some imagine. On Sofmap Akiba, they started a campaign until January 17th. If you buy a Wii U (Shiro Set or Mario Maker Set) you will recieve a 2,000yen discount for the download version of Mario Maker or Splatoon.

At Bic Camera, there are some ads about Ryu ga Gotoku.

But, the main point is, are 200k first week more realistic then 200k in the intere life cicle?

Exactly this. As I commented before, the game is having good pre-orders not only on COMG. Rakuten, Amazon, and some other stores as Bic Camera or Sofmap are showing this. 200k LTD with digital is a lock at this point, and a FW between 100k and 120k is not anything impossible, in my opinion.

EDIT: It seems Monster Hunter X is not having stock problems anymore.

It's an enhanced porting with some new contents (nice PR spin) - maybe not lazy but it sold for what it was, especially considering it came less than a year after the original one, and the same year of Digimon Adventure, which sold around the same. Do you think it sold pretty bad?

Pretty surprising preorder start for Pokken. I didn't expect the game to sell very well personally, so this is good to see.

As for the NX discussion, I wouldn't be surprised if many third-party publishers would once again make next to no effort to push it and then be disappointed when it underperforms, maybe putting all the blame on the market, or Nintendo.

They need to go balls out. The system won't suddenly start selling a large amount of software in diverse genres two years in. There's no truly healthy platform on the market bar the 3DS so they shouldn't let the NX fail. But I can already see them foolishly take the wait-and-see approach while they cling onto PS4/Vita like that's a good enough, future-proof combo.

Street Fighter V will likely struggle to sell 200k lifetime, so yes 200k for Pokken FW is just out of this world.

It's on comgnet now, that's great, but Pokémon is one of those series that has the kind of fans that will buy anything with the Pokémon name on the box, for the time being, being on comgnet is meaningless.

Better see how it's doing in a month, if it's considerably higher then maybe, but still 200k opening week for the week is insane, it'd almost be what Smash Bros. did.

FF2 (nes) isn't a million seller (difference between 1 and 2 is Nintendo distributing the game in America).

GE Resurrection also received a substantial graphical upgrade - eventually we agreed on calling it an enhanced HD remaster advertised as a remake, or something like that IIRC (also the game sold way below half of what the original GE sold, while Decode sold more than half of what the original did).

All they've done is Runabout 3D And the port of LBX 1 on 3DS (odd since tri-Crescendo did the PSP original and its Boost expanded release). But disappeared for some reason.

I dunno about that. The games don't move much anymore and always debut to low sell through for something that doesn't have great legs. I think it's likelier they're trying to get the most out of their assets. I'm not convinced the series will continue once NX launches and they no longer have two engines and a bunch of character models to reuse.

Yeah, Natsume has said there's scheduling issues with localizing the games. Dual was developed by Jupiter, so that might not be true for them. The issue there would probably be due to the content of the game requiring some knowledge of things that were never translated.

Certainly plausible. It's the reason I suspect we'll see more Neptunia games on Vita, for example - the most recent entries may have dropped, but the assets still all exist for reuse and I'd imagine they're still making bank.
