If anything SK:SV probably overpreformed due to the anime and Vita price drop. We'll see where the series goes next but I don't expect improvement.
Well the producer said we'll hearing more about the series this year.
I was referring to sales, I definitely expect more games in the series.

Publishers seem super, super confident in VR too for some reason.
Yes it is.
While Pokémon should not be dismissed, the trend was reverted also thanks to the introduction of the GB Pocket in mid 1996.Speaking for system sellers and revived systems I think you can guess what was coming out at the start of 1997.
You are expecting Pokken first week on Wii U to be higher than Tekken 6 sold on PS3 LT. Even with Pokemon name associated with it, I don't think that would be realistic.
As far as I can tell, there are still some units of the Splatoon Set on shelves on various stores of Tokyo. This is from yestarday at Bic Camera Hachioji. Also the Kojima store on Rakuten had a little re-stock of it.Splatoon probably got that boost on Comg because the bundle sold out last week and people that want to play that game got no choice but to buy the game alone, plus the shiro console or mario maker bundle.
I mean, yes it's sold out, but not as some imagine. On Sofmap Akiba, they started a campaign until January 17th. If you buy a Wii U (Shiro Set or Mario Maker Set) you will recieve a 2,000yen discount for the download version of Mario Maker or Splatoon.
At Bic Camera, there are some ads about Ryu ga Gotoku.
Exactly this. As I commented before, the game is having good pre-orders not only on COMG. Rakuten, Amazon, and some other stores as Bic Camera or Sofmap are showing this. 200k LTD with digital is a lock at this point, and a FW between 100k and 120k is not anything impossible, in my opinion. But, the main point is, are 200k first week more realistic then 200k in the intere life cicle?
EDIT: It seems Monster Hunter X is not having stock problems anymore.
Seriusly, 200k was just a example, i mean yes right now i would say something like in the 200k range, but i don't say it will FOR SURE sell so much, i can see even < 150k first week or lower, is hard to say right now, i will for sure change my prediction with the COMG trend.
But, the main point is, are 200k first week more realistic then 200k in the intere life cicle?
Yes, even with a super low expectation for it legs, less than 200k lifetime would be too low.
And i'm surprised that so much guys only reply to me, but not to people who expect 100-150k lifetime...
It's an enhanced porting with some new contents (nice PR spin) - maybe not lazy but it sold for what it was, especially considering it came less than a year after the original one, and the same year of Digimon Adventure, which sold around the same. Do you think it sold pretty bad?
from "I've reasons FW will be 200k" to "FW 200k? Why not?"![]()

It's on comgnet now, that's great, but Pokémon is one of those series that has the kind of fans that will buy anything with the Pokémon name on the box, for the time being, being on comgnet is meaningless.
Better see how it's doing in a month, if it's considerably higher then maybe, but still 200k opening week for the week is insane, it'd almost be what Smash Bros. did.
BTW missed Final Fantasy (NES) shipment in the previous graph: 1.20M
Can confirm this is a thing. I'm one of them. They do?

"I have my reason for believe it will sell 200k"
Not " I have my reason the game will surely sell over 200k", is not hard.
Pokkén will sell over 200k first week alone
FF2 (nes) isn't a million seller (difference between 1 and 2 is Nintendo distributing the game in America).Final Fantasy is on the list with 1.29m. Final Fantasy II is missing, so I suppose 1.2m is the number.
the same situation that happened to GE Resurrection but in that case you didn't call it a "lazy port" but a "remake with new contents" iirc
Don't read too much into comgnet. We'll see something similar with this next week.

Would it be possible to report the news in English instead of dropping the link in Japanese without adding any relevant information about the news itself? It's not the first time I see you doing this and it's quite annoying if we want to discuss about what has been posted. Thanks.

It's a new Medarot game focused on the girls in the series. It's due out on March 10th and sounds like a Medarot Dual re-skin.

Ok, thanks. So it seems Rocket Company is moderately happy with the sales of the series on 3DS? Otherwise it'd be weird to develop 5 games one a after the other.
Do they have much else at this point?

And NONE get localized. I think Natsume hinted (or someone said so second-hand) that it's due to Delta-Arts (the dev of the main games) being too busy to work on one? With this, you can see why...
One small good point; it gives Jupiter (actually the ones behind Medabots Duel) more work at 3DS retail.![]()

They release plenty of games: Bonbon Ribbon, Gudetama, Funassyi, Kumamon, Despair Fortress, Rilakkuma...Do they have much else at this point?
I dunno about that. The games don't move much anymore and always debut to low sell through for something that doesn't have great legs. I think it's likelier they're trying to get the most out of their assets. I'm not convinced the series will continue once NX launches and they no longer have two engines and a bunch of character models to reuse.

Assets exploitation up to the fifth game? You did say that even the first 3DS game sold below expectations so why keep pumping out game after game? Perhaps Rocket Company is just fine with a niche series that don't cost much to produce - like plenty of other niche companies.
SFV situation will be interesting to see as the game as of yet is not receiving an Arcade version. The only place you'll be able to play it is PS4 and PC. I wonder if it will have an impact at longevity and popularity of the series in Japan.
