What a lot of sales! Quite a few games sold last week then... go go present giving.

Ah OK, maybe I confused it with the big-budget Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest games. I recall reading something about them having a higher price.

Both higher than their launch weeks.

I said this would be a huge week but I wasn't quite prepared for this.

AC will do 2m easily now and MK should do 1m in the next couple of weeks.

Staggering performances!

I'll post my prediction here since the other was locked..

last week it was:

AC 184k
MKDS 146k

and DS sold 409k

this week: AC sold 416k (226% of last week)
MKDS sold 302k (206% of last week)

so I would expect the ds to sell in the region of ~700-800k and that confirms Iwata's 5.44 million sold.

go DS!

Well, KH should have decent legs, another 200k next week, 120k following then dropping away- maybe 1.3-1.4m?

Hardware is gonna be something else.

600k for DS has to be a cert.

Better then GT4 which sold about the same amount and dropped off into an endless abyss. Well anyways it dropped off about 500k in sales. I don't think that is going to happen though.

I'll stick with a DS hardware prediction at 575k. Not saying that isn't amazing. I'm just saying that some of your predictions at 700k are to high.

Well, the chart we had from Nintendo which was sourced as Media Create showed about 5.2m as of Dec 25th, so that would only indicate around 550k this week but maybe these were based on early estimates or something because it has to be more than that...

Since all the Nintendogs games are back in the Top 30, and that means they all sold atleast 30-40k they are probably going to go over the Million mark next week too. Then Gentle Brain Training might go over next week too.

Yeah I found it hard to believe 600-700k DS predictions but those DS software sales are some craziness...is that 6 Nintendo published games in the top10?

So when do the hardware figures come out? Is this even the year's biggest week for sales?

It has to be, there aren't many weeks when the entire top 10 sell over 90k

I believe they do, but that's only for members who get their weekly/monthly/annual reports.

Last year, the biggest selling week, both for hardware and software was the 20th-26th December. I'd say the 19th-25th Dec is the biggest.

This is the biggest week.

I'm afraid sales will be dropping off to ~70% of these numbers next week (still another 250k for AC, 170k for MK etc)...

But Brain Training 2 and Mario & Luigi are out!

No Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner? First good game for PSP since March and it doesn't sell. Oh well, go DS.

Also, looks like Tales of the Abyss has no legs.
