What the fuck?Download version on 3DS is 30 bucks. I'd be down for 15 or 20.
What the fuck?
I thought the 3ds digital version was previously announced with a $15 price. (Like months ago back when the console versions launched)
Wait....the digital version on 3DS is also $30?
WHY....it's $15 everywhere else!

Guess they figured "Well, it the same price as if someone bought all 6 NES Virtual Console MM titles, so why not?"
Nevermind the fact that said VC titles apparently run way better than they do in the collection, which is hilarious.
Though, the Twiiter post was about the other versions.I'd say the 3DS issues are a lot worse than some minor sound issues. :

I'm not surprised that they are not patching it, as the issues likely aren't with the game per say, but with their compiler they built to translate NES games to different platforms, and thus a lot harder to pin down.
I absolutely cannot believe they're now selling this at retail and have still not patched the sound issues that have been present since August....and they promised during the first week they were going to fix it.
How the hell is this okay? I feel Frank Cifaldi and his team need to be called out for this shit, but of course, no one will. This industry sucks sometimes.

I'm also still pissed that the sound crackling in MM1 & MM2 haven't been fixed on steam yet.

I haven't been following closely; what issues does the 3DS version have that the others don't? I know about the stuttering but the other versions stutter occasionally, too--is it just more frequent?
Yes, it happens more on the 3DS version than any other. In fact, out of all options, 3DS Legacy Collection is probably the worst way to play classic Mega Man.
In all likelihood it's because Capcom doesn't want to pay for the patch, not because DE can't or won't fix it.
Thankfully the XB1 version, which I originally bought back in August, is nowhere near as bad as the PS4 version
So which version has the least issues? X1? PC?

Funny too, considering the VC versions on the same console are probably the best way.Yes, it happens more on the 3DS version than any other. In fact, out of all options, 3DS Legacy Collection is probably the worst way to play classic Mega Man.
Nah, the NES VC output is pretty nasty looking. Image quality just isn't up to snuff. Which is why this is such a disappointment.Funny too, considering the VC versions on the same console are probably the best way.

The reason for this is simple (at least the pixel distortion).I'm not sure I'd say the VC one looks very good. Aside from the darkness of it, let's zoom in on Megaman himself..
Oof
Yeah, it was really hit or miss on the SNES.What always makes it worse though is that different devs had different methods back then. Some, like Square, would take into account the non-square pixels and compensate. (Look at Chrono Trigger, with 1:1 pixels you don't get a circle moon or pendulum)
I definitely agree with you there. The low-res 3DS screens are amazing for pixel art. What's especially lovely about displaying pixel for pixel is that, certainly on my N3DSXL, there's a beautiful inbuilt scanline effect. The low PPI of the screens that people always moan about actually work in their favour here. See also the Sega Classics. Gorgeous.
Also, I still don't understand why VC games display so dimly. It's pretty awful and strangely common with Nintendo. Even the old GameBoy Player outputs a very dim image while the homebrew alternative (GameBoy Interface) produces a MUCH brighter, cleaner image.
So the legacy collection on 3DS looks better but plays worse than the NES VC?
For all their promise of preserving the past, Digital Eclipse have been beaten by hobby developers.
That appears to be the case, yes.
Pretty much. These guys didn't preserve anything. It's already been preserved by others and those people did it for free.
As far as I'm concerned, Digital Eclipse's "rebirth" was nothing more than a way to convince us all to give them our money again, despite their bad track record. Nothing actually changed in terms of quality.
so they just tarnished their reputation then, any future games they do people are just gonna be skeptical at the least
Amazon just charged me for my physical copy for PS4. What are these glitches I keep reading about and what does "judder" mean?
so whats the amiibo content like?
This is embarrassing. I adore Mega Man to death but...How do you mess up the original NES GAMES?! Ugh.
Do these feature anything extra other than a box with a disc? I was hoping for at least a printed instruction manual or something to make up for that $15 bucks extra.Honestly, the PS4 version will be good enough for most people. It has some annoying audio issues but, in my experience, it plays just fine.
Don't get me wrong, it's still a joke that they presented this as a 100% faithful reproduction of the classics, but if you just want a way to play Mega Man on your modern console, you'll probably enjoy it.
Still cracks me up that the physical copies are double the price of the digital versions though.

I thought the team were working on patching things.
Sigh. Disappointed to hear. Wonder what happened.
