Overall the movie is too long and the excitement comes in the last 40 min. But he goes right into Mexico city to get his girl back from a cartel. Lots of dead Mexicans.

LOL. I'm old enough to remember and appreciate 80s 90s action movies ( Hong Kong included). Kids these days are fucking wimps. Modern action movies are so boring and watered down because of no guns, they kill, no b00bies, they offensively jiggle, no white men, they are racist, no straight men, they all are rapists... yeah, in current politics it's hard to produce a worthy sequel to Commando or A better tomorrow sequel.

Sounds interesting; haven't watched a Gibson movie since Apoctalypto, so this might be worth a watch in prep for a possible Lethal Weapon 5.

Also I love how the writers call using a fictional hurricane in Puerto Rico "exploitation" when it's a movie starring someone that doesn't tow the line the Hollywood cult. If it were Brie Larson they'd be fawning all over it as having a "powerful commentary on the effects of climate change manifesting devastating calamities which in turn disenfranchise those already on the edge to desperate means."

Surely I cant be the only one that wants to see Mel Gibson sitting on the directors chair making a massive fucking Ancient Egypt biopic? Apocalypto & Passion where absolutely phenomenal in their depiction of their respective time periods (yes yes I know they may not have been 100% historically accurate) but you cant deny the production values and attention to detail where spot on plus they where pretty damn good movies to boot

Hacksaw Ridge was a boring shitpile disappointment after I loved POTC (I'm not religious but I love the movie) and Apocalypto. I thought they were both incredible. Hacksaw Ridge was such a fucking let down for me.

I notice that nearly any actor ends up doing movies like these after a while. Even people considered the greatest end up going for straight to video type movies these days, it's kinda crazy.

boy wtf are you smoking?! It won two oscars, nominated for best director, best actor and best picture. It won a ton of other awards as well. Movie was fucking incredible.
