Production is shite. Hope this is a rough mix. Vlado doing the mastering so the chances of this sounding decent are slim.
Im not blown away by it either, but I usually like their singles the least. Still pretty exciting to have a new album coming. Going to give it many more listens before finalizing my opinion.

I hear ya, just disappointed at this point. I’m from the days of seeing ads for DEI in Metal Maniacs so I’ve lived through most of their trajectory. The last album sounds great to me and was hoping for a similar production. The new song is decent enough but the production choices are terrible. I’m surprised more people aren’t commenting about it.

I like it, but they just keep milking the same sound since ObZen.

So... Yeah.... not really excited about hearing more.

I'm always so delighted to find a new track has been released as Immutable's release date lurches forward.

Only a week to go until we get to hear the whole shebang.

It's the heaviest shit I've heard all year. Sounds like the fury of black hole or something equally as extreme and dark. It's just brutal, but not in angry way, but in an almost primordial way. The production is also more natural feeling than some of their other albums, which are a lot more sterile and precise sounding. That being said, even has a metalhead, I don't really listen to Meshuggah albums from start to finish, or at least I have a hard time doing so. It's just too much intensity to absorb in one sitting for me, at least if I'm not passively listening. I need some melody, I'm more of Gojira kinda guy if we're talking similar bands. But I like Meshuggah in shorts bursts, like when I'm at the gym I'll throw on Bleed and hit the barbell lol. I'd say my favorite track is Broken Cog or Abysmal Eye.

Like with most extreme metal I can appreciate the music but I hate those growls that have to pass for vocals so much that I just have to turn it off when they start. Would have been better as an instrumental album in my probably unpopular opinion.

Primordial is one of my favorite words.
