Well RIP Tess I guess, but yeah he definitely crossed a line there. You can't say stuff like that. And his follow up post about the riot in the capital didn't help him either. Evilore has already put his foot down about that topic.

This is an international forum and yet all the shite that gets people banned is about American politics. So bury that shit and move on cos the rest of the world doesn't care. (Apart from watching the flames from a distance).

I feel equally on that note that baiting users towards bans histrionically is worthy of a temp at minimum. So, I can't say Tess is 100% to blame on that. Everything's eventual - so the trolls probably won't last much longer either.
 
Hope by tomm the mods reverse the decision and give Tess a chance. His posting history should be taken into account.

I disagree on fudge baiting Tess with that one particular post that got him banned. I don't see him getting unbanned for the follow-up post he wrote sympathizing for the January 6th attacks. I see that post more as crossing the line. If it was just the post to fudge, I doubt it would have been a perma. That following post...Tess kinda lost it there and seems to have wanted the ban.

Is a perm warranted on that? Judge ruling is still out. But Tess is a good one.

I hardly keep tabs on Tesseract, or even browse anything like the majority of the boards. But he never stood out to me as a problem user on here.

I've had a post deleted on here and replaced with a mod warning in the past. How many bans did Tess have before this perm?

I saw the post before I came here. Struck me as out of character for him unless I'm missing a reference point or something, which is possible.

But PERM, really? Don't agree at all. Lots of fucked up things happening around the world over the past year or so. More inclined to ask him how he is doing after reading the post, rather than ban him permanently.

Packer calls for receipts, Tess says no, I'd rather watch you flounder around and contradict yourself and provide them when I feel the need to "execute".

Strong metaphor, strong choice of words, sure, I just don't believe it was a physical threat. Tess always spoke in allegory. Just my two cents.

Politics board is a no-go zone, so much needless toxicity in that section of GAF and I am pretty passionate when it comes to Politics so stay away to keep my cool and avoid risking a ban.

Really hurts, Tesseract was a great account and an even better person, I won't defend or condone what he said which lead to the ban, but I just feel like everyone has an off day and a temp would have been the better solution, it is what it is though.

Aye, the Politics board can be a death trap if you go in there with the wrong mentality.

I had to force myself out of a couple of threads after getting a little too heated.

Did Tesseract have any past bans? If not it seems strange that such an established and respected poster was dropped at the first sign of trouble, I agree with mekes mekes where instead of punishing him instantly for what he said he should have been asked what was up and how him and his loved ones were instead of an instant perma-ban. Especially when such cancerous and toxic posters continue to get away with their antics it seems even after the 100th offence.

Was an absolute bloodbath for the US Elections, if I was American myself I would have probably got very heated with the shit that was said from both sides aha.
 
Shit. I say we ban the politics board at this point. This community was well on its way to recovery and I feel like it's taken a step back recently. Maybe we could keep politics to a few threads in off-topic? IDK. Sucks man.

I know, it seems harsh and weird. I don't know what happened. As I said , he was one of the few very calm, very nice and smart posters. These messages I read in that particular thread didn't sound like him at all and I really don't understand why he got permed for that.

Something has been going in here, lately and it's just really sad for me as a new member to see the community crumbling.
