Not here, but I'd say Ocelot being The Boss' son is a big one for less involved fans. It's never explicitly said and I don't think I even inferred it first play through.

Also, johnny Sasaki looks like Snake. Which I suppose is because he's a genome soldier? Which affected his looks? do all genome soldiers look like Snake? Did Sasaski ever get the genome shots? That always confuses me.

Replacing Solid Snake with Raiden. I can't say I enjoyed it at start, but still it was risky and interesting decision. And after I beat game it enhanced my enjoyment of Metal Gear.

Same here, Raiden as MC. And I hoped for NG+ or something (mb Snake Tales) to play as Solid Snake during Big Shell incident. To disarm those bombs/gurads in Shell 2, while Raiden was in Shell 1. Like someone mentioned few days ago, something similar to Resident Evil 2 (Leon and Claire scenarios).

Did anyone play Ground Zeroes with keyboard and mouse? I'm having a really hard time with the movement but love the aiming with the mouse.
Also if you go with a gamepad to PC Metal Gear Online you're gonna get your shit handed to you by the mouse guys...
