Hey guys. I've played about 3 or 4 matches of the zone control game type and really enjoyed it; but I couldn't help thinking it'd be a lot more fun with a group. Hit me up on PSN if you want to run a few games sometime. PSNid orioncelsius

And get rid of the stun of flashbangs. They're incredibly OP!

Let's not remove even more tools the Infiltrators rely on.

Since you can't actually turn away to avoid being blinded at least somewhat, the grenades would barely have use if there wasn't a stun possible.

I downloaded data for MGO and I got some DLC costumes and the game doesn't show the latter at all and I am also unable to access MGO, it just tells me to download MGO data.

The game is unplayable 80% of the time because it matches you with the players that use a toaster to connect online.

-Vacuum CQC from 20 meters out.
-17 bullets into a dudes back only for him to 180 and headshot you.
-Stun grenade a guy and after he falls to the ground, he stands back up to kill you and falls down stunned again.

Do what I did and stop playing this garbage.

I was getting down on this game after about 20 hours and my first ascension with my infiltrator. Incredibly dissapoinTed that I have to ascend again to get more colors... so I decided to do a new character scout.

It is so refreshing with the new customizable options and sniping is actually fairly rewarding. The rubber banding on some players is still pretty bad but I need to get off nat type 2 and finally get to an open nat.

Heh, it's been the opposite for me. I've been playing as scout since launch and had a miserable time more often than not. A couple of days ago i created an infiltrator character and now i'm often the match mvp, which hardly ever happened playing as scout. Could be the different playstyle that suits me more, but so far i find it much easier to rack up points as an infiltrator.

I recently decided to go all CQC/Fulton with my infiltrator, and I've rarely looked back. Bring along some fulton cannons and you're a beast. Move fast, drop cannons, trick people into following you.

I wish I had recorded it, but I had two guys running at me from both sides of a crate. I dropped a fulton cannon on one side to get the guy with the +2 bounty, then I CQC'd the other and fultoned him for +8. So good.

MGO should take a page or two from Uncharted 4's Mp (both supposedly the last one of the series). 5 (total of 10) characters that span through the entire franchise... That's awesome.

Having fun with infiltrator, mobility over firepower is my thing, lvl4 only but I feel more useful than my lvl14 scout

Rubberbanding was terrible yesterday

The game is APPALLING today.

Nothing but sprinting invisible people and if it's not sprinting invisible people it's CONSTANT gear walker abuse throughout every second of every game.

What did we expect with a powerful drivable robot.
Yeah, I'm done until the invisible camo is out of the game. I realize it may never happen, oh well. The game just isn't the deliberate, smart shooter I was hoping it'd be.

Because you two want to bang and you two don't want to admit it in public.

Okay, bros. Get a room and stop posting your flirting here. Okay? Okay.

November patch that nerfs infiltrators into the ground out yet?

I'm not sure what armour people can buy but I die very quick. Yet I'll fire and get a good seven hit markers on people before they dolphin dive away like this is call of duty.

Hideous mess.

Next Gen Fox Engine Tactical gameplay.

Where you get to enemy base where invisible camping infiltrator is hiding and shoot him through a fence which is 97% hole. Yet bullets don't go through and you get fultoned by another infiltrator.

It may sound harsh but it's for the best that most of the team who worked on this are being dropped from developing AAA titles. They'd fit in developing some iPhone games.

Dunno what game ya'll playing but PS3 is pretty good (or as good as MGO3 can be) except for the rubberbanding.

Is there much of a PS3 community?

You're mistaken. We clearly want to bang in public. ;)

Nope.

I'm interested to see how much of an affect the patch ends up having, especially since it's the class that 90% of the user base are using. I'm curious to see if it's going to cause a lot of people to drop the game and whether it'll be able to draw people back in to compensate.

I've been playing my Infidel as advertised: flanking and ambushing (and doing pretty poorly, even though I'm having fun with it). I must say though, I'm not keen on massive pendulum swings in balancing which - the more I look at it - this seems to be (why lower the stamina if they're the CQC specialists...?). Very little good comes from them in my experience. We'll see.

Their mistake was giving a class invisibility at all. If the Infidels need a special skill and it has to be some kind of camo, I think it should've been more like Snake in MGO1 where if you lay down on the ground or stand still next to a wall, you blend in, and any gunfire or damage reveals you. That'd promote sneaky ambushing.

Harsh and petulant, if I may say so.

That sounds infinitely more useful than stealth camo as it is, so would still get cries to nerf it from people who suck at the game.

Most the people crying about stealth camo are just gonna drop the game for the next shooter anyway, where they'll cry nerf about something there.

Maybe. I think that kind of approach would've slowed down the Infidel play style. It'd require clever use of cover (you'd still see their shadows) as well as careful choices over when to expose yourself either when you move between cover or strike at the enemy (as gunfire would take away the effect).

MGO is using a modified engine? Expected it would have shared the same engine as TPP where I've shot through fences many times (can't recall if I've tried it using AR though).

That sort of gameplay just isn't ever gonna happen in MGO3. While you do single sneaking flank everyone else is busy getting 2-5 kills or stuns and fulton attempts.

But being able to actually hide well anywhere before sprinting at an enemy to CQC them would be more useful than "lol predator camo, here I am easy to see unless I'm laying still in long grass".

Dunno about the community, its all japanese names mostly.
But finding a game in automatch takes less than 10 seconds on average.
And the hosts rarely disconnect mid game now.

Oh, I don't expect that to happen now. Too much of a change and the rest of the game doesn't suit it. It's how I probably would've approached the problem during development (not that I know anything about development, of course).

Having played 3 weeks straight as a scout and a few days now as an infiltrator, i think some of the upcoming changes regarding infiltrators are throwing out the baby with the bathwater. First of all, it's not like it takes a lot to die in this game. It already feels like i'm made out of paper, and i never had the issue that an infiltrator would manage to run straight through my gunfire to CQC me. To lower their health further, while also nerfing the rest of their repertoire, seems a bit over the top. However, i'm fine with them losing their camo when getting hit, as well as being easier to mark while camouflaged. As far as i'm concerned they could also make them lose their camo while sprinting, as i only ever use it to sneak around quietly.

On the other hand i welcome the health increase for scouts, reduced scope sway on sniper rifles and making e-locators exclusive to them, these changes will certainly make it more fun to play as scout again.

I'm not sure how to feel about the changes to CQC. Making 1-hit stuns exclusive to infiltrators with the right setup and the hectic nature of the game will make going for fulltons as a scout much less viable. I suppose that's the intent, but it's hard enough as it is to complete a fulton in a busy match, without getting killed while preparing it, or the balloon getting shot down. I'd at least like to have the chance to turn the tide that way occasionally as a scout. At least enforcers have their sleep grenade launchers to quickly set up a fulton possibility, while the scout's sleep grenades are more or less useless for that purpose, as it takes way too long to down someone with them.

The increased general movement speed is great and might curb the need to be sprinting around as much. Protecting fultons from friendly fire is probably the best of all these changes, although things have gotten better in that regard since launch, at least in my experience.

I'm surprised there isn't much talk about the spawns though. I wrote a post about this a few weeks ago, but no one commented on it. Do you all feel it's ok to not only be able to respawn immediately, but do so a few meters away from where you were just killed? I mean, i don't mind the former that much, but the latter can be jarring when you're on the receiving end. There's nothing like dispatching an enemy and getting killed by them as you walk around the corner 3 seconds later.

Anyway, it's nice that they're listening to feedback and implementing some changes, let's just hope it will ultimately be for the better.

This game, man. Like, I really want to enjoy it but seriously this game is infuriating.

Rubberbanding, constant run and gun stealth infiltrators, mortarfire everywhere, among other things. Using non-lethal weapons doesn't seem worth it all, especially non-lethal snipers, since the knockout doesnt last long enough.

This is not metal gear, man. This is not metal gear at all!

I tranq'd a guy, fultoned him. Balloon was popped, I shoot him in the face with my tranq sniper, he pounces forward and shoots me with his smg and kills me.

fuck everything, can't wait for that patch good lord

this game is too speedy gonfuckingsalez

I'm pretty sure I've seen people use lethal weapons while attacking in CD. It sounds just like an assault rifle and fires just like it too. What gun is it? Or are they cheaters?

Well if you have CQC+3 you can steal weapons from defenders if you get a CQC slam in.

This is the best one yet. I wonder what the guy was thinking. I can't be the only one who thinks the way spawns work is a bit ridiculous.

Ball so hard game took me out of the match. Got stuck in the middle of fulton, able to select items :/

We were going to lose anyway

Konami have shut down the studio working on MGO, and laid off all the staff: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2...s-la-studio-responsible-for-metal-gear-online

No word yet on PC version, but I presume cancelled.

Be interesting to see what Konami say, as it needs servers being available to log in (for the matchmaking process to work). I imagine Konami will maintain the servers themselves.

R.I.P MGO 3, we hardly knew ye.

I hope the KojiPro LA guys and gals land on their feet. Despite some frustrations, i have had a lot of fun with the mp. It seemed like they were listening to player feedback and could have ironed out the problems with the game, so it's sad to see them get sacked. Best of wishes!

I'd be wonderful if KojiPro and Kojima can get signed onto the same studio together - or create their own.

Dammit I was looking forward to expansions with new maps, modes, items, and heroes. I'm legit bummed.

Yeah, it does seem like Konami is leaving a lot of money on the table. There's so little content, i was sure there would be at least cosmetic expansions, along with a map pack or two. Unless that stuff will be developed in Japan, but i'm not holding my breath at this point.

For sure.
