Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance PC Version |OT| Violence Breeds Violence

This game is pretty crazy. It does in fact ask your system what resolutions your monitor supports, and even launches in its native resolution as far as I can tell, but then renders to an offscreen buffer of the resolution you select in the options.

smh

Runs at a locked 60fps at 1080p. So for me it runs good. Just hope they patch it so it isn't locked at 60 though.

I take it anyone trying to to play this on TV is having problems with running at 24hz, that's the problem for me.

I'm getting stuck at 59hz, but both issues can be avoided by using custom resolutions for a TV that only have 60hz as an option.... and this game doesn't support custom resolutions atm.

Runs fine for me with everything at MAX Settings, 1080p/60fps. Although there are definitely drops in frame rate when things get a bit crazy. No 120Hz support either.

Still can't get full screen to work, about to ask steam for a refund. Worst pc game experience I ever had other than fallout 3 goty always crashing.

I think I should play through the game rather than just jumping into the bosses after not playing for months and months. Still managed to A Rank Hard Mode Mistral with no upgrades.

Also, I'm getting thick black bars (the fuck!?) at 1680x1050. Not toooooo bothered but you know, would rather not have them. Might shove this on my TV.

If you guys are having problems, run in windowed mode. That seemed to fix the framerate for me.

Turning down AA helps as well, their solution seems to be a tad unoptimized.

I couldn't find any ini files either, but I only did a quick look.

Haven't noticed any framerate drops, even when slashing enemies. Very happy with this port.

Just beat the metal gear ray thing. Awesome game :D

I tracked down the index the resolution list selects to 01A50FB0. Seems to store said index in GraphicOption file as well in My Documents. Dunno if that helps.

EDIT: Seems like that was just for windowed mode actually. Modifying that address in real time does give you the next option and modifies the offscreen buffer to be 1440p. o_O

Go windowed? Either way, these issues should be smoothed over quickly either by the developer or the community.

I haven't seen anything abhorrent enough to request a refund.

Fuck, I have the same problem which I had when playing any Crysis. It's locked to 24fps while playing on my Bravia. Can i somehow fix this?

Very cinematic 24 fps. Haha.

Will try the fix mentioned above.

Fuck, this problem again? Another way is to try to run the game windowed borderless.

Why can't Japanese devs ever get anything right with PC games? My theory as to why there's barely any Japanese PC games on Steam other than 2D or old titles is that they are afraid they'll fuck up anything that requires a shred of computing power to run.

Because they don't have the experience. PC gaming with 3D graphics is almost nonexistent in Japan.

Make a custom resolution of something really close to 1920x1080 and pick that instead, since the game won't let you select you refresh rate.

It's the Crysis annoying glitch. Usually I can fix it in Crysis by just disabling and then enabling v-sync, but this game doesn't have a vsync option

Runs like butter at 1080p full-screen for me. Had it on max settings with MSAAx8. Only had time to try a VR mission though.

lol no wonder I couldn't find a config file.

I have my documents moved off my SSD, but MGR went ahead and put a save file there anyways. They even made their own 'documents' folder.

Thanks folks, setting custom resolution helped.

1. Go to Nvidia control panel
2. Set custom res 1979x1079
3. Set it as your windows resolution
4. Launch Rising
5. Bam, you have 60 fps. There still is no option to ser this custom res in game settings, but I guess the game is still being rendered in it.

There should be other ways to lock your framerate to 60 fps without creating non-standard resolutions. Has anyone tried setting the frame limiter in RadeoPro to 60? That addressed a similar strange issue I had with State of Decay locking the framerate to 50 when vsync was enabled.
