Anyway, yeah I see what the art guys do in Uni so I completely understand the reasons behind not doing the OT. Personally I'm definitely not an artist, I'll have to try and dig up my sculpture I did as a part of an assignment in 3D modelling. Fuck it was hideous. I do enjoy art even though I'm shit at creating it.

just a couple of people talking in the spoiler thread regarding the spoilers and the legitimacy of them last night sparked some debates and when some guys didn't agree with me calling some of it fake (which it clearly is) he said I was posting angry lol. Then today when I was trying to get my point across as to why I didn't have a problem with the way quiet is dressed I got called what I tagged above lmao.

I'm at uni doing graphics for games.......3D I am pretty good at. I'm pretty good at putting together a playable level on Unreal 4.......but drawing I am the worst at! I almost failed my first year because of it haha.

See, 3D modelling with CAD I'm pretty competent with but drawing and 3D modelling by hand... Well let's just say the shit I make would melt your eyeballs.

University, I've been doing games design for 2 years. Before that I was doing IT and Business Alevels.
I love it when people can be passionate about what they work with. I still figuring out whether or not to do games or transfer over to Computer Science and broaden my horizons?
Edit: Like for me, I used to be passionate about games, everything about games I lived and breathed, it was what I always loved, they inspired me to go to uni but lately I've not been "well" if you get what I mean and I find myself not liking things I usually would.
It's strange, I can't understand or explain how I feel. I'm just scared I'll never get better and start being passionate about the things I loved.
LOL, nah, my friend brought around his copy, and he let me play it for a few hours.
Which brings me to my question, Tora my good sir, will the PC copy of TPP have action-type-B controls (like GZ did) because unfortunately the PS4 version does not, which threw me for a loop.

That's what is giving me doubts about my future. I love using maya and been creative within a university environment..........but I'm sometimes not sure if I could cope with some parts of the industry. I'm going to give it a go because I have always wanted to do it and I feel very passionate about games and the creation of games.
Hopefully everything works out for me in the end.

Cathartic is pretty much the word. This project has been around basically since I started working in this division, so it's kinda interesting to think it's coming out so soon! It's definitely the best thing I've worked on while at the company, and as a long time MGS fan I'm super excited to see what is most definitely the best MGS yet finally see that glorious release date.

#FUNFACT I was offered a job as a QA Tester at Rockstar in June of last year which I subsequently turned down due to me wanting to finish Uni and the pay was shit. As well as the fact that if I was laid off I'd be stuck in Edinburgh with no money and no job lol.
The reason I'm thinking of switching my course from games design to Computer Science is the Games industry is volatile when it comes to moving around, getting laid off etc.
If I stuck with my BSc Hons Games design it'd limit me to a couple of lines of work and all within the games industry. Whereas if I went with Computer Science I could do games design/programming work and if I was laid off I could then go and easily get a job as a coder for a web company etc.
That reminds me, I don't know whether your allowed to give your PSN out or if you even want to give it me but if do I'll gladly take up the challenge of trying to successfully invade your MB.Bring it on! >
Digital guys have let me know that the countdown on the Steam Store page is kinda the final say on when your copy will unlock. That being said, make sure to pre-purchase and you will get it as soon as it is released. These may not be the same time.
I think you made the right choice regarding Rockstar. From what I've been told QA testing is not a good way to get into the industry.

It's really frustrating to still get vague answers this close to launch.

Its not an easy industry. Thats for sure. But its one that is very alive, and the people in it make it wonderful. I learn every day, and i am excited to be working on big profile games now.
You do what you have to do. Whatever is best for what kind of lifestyle you want.
I moved from Mexico to San Diego, then LA, then Green Bay, Wisconsin. Then Upstate New York, now all the way back to Portland OR.
Crazy. haha
Some experiences were amazing.. some i hated them by the end. But i guess any job has that.

See, I think it could be a good way for someone without Alevels or a degree but I've heard it can be a very long,misery slow process progressing from QA upwards.
I agree on what you said about QA @ R* I don't know if I'm allowed to discuss what the pay was but it was pretty crap for the work required of you. I mean it was t bad but when you factor in Tax and costs of living compared to what I pay now it wouldn't have been worth my time.

Moving away is almost a necessity for me if I do want to enter the industry. The closest developer to me is Team 17 - the guys that made worms.

Definitely wouldn't recommend just throwing it out there Tora, maybe quote tag it or something if you ever do give it out in the future? You will be inundated with requests if you just throw it out there.

Wow that's definitely some moving, like I said, I'd be prepared to move 100% every time but the pay has to be right first. I wouldn't want to put myself in a position where I'd be stuck if you catch my drift.
I'm glad you've found it good, it definitely has its ups and downs from what I know but I suppose you only get one life and those ups and downs are what makes life special and worth living.

That wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the fact that global unlock time right now is set at 1pm EST / 10AM PST worldwide on the 1st. Which means for some territories, it won't be unlocking until the 2nd.
Hence why folks are wound up, because of the comments made by Robert Peeler about it unlocking in NZ at midnight NZ time, making it available for everyone who's pre-ordered.
Yeah, we obviously have to do our own QA for our projects and it's mind numbing lol. I couldn't do it for that long.

I do the same for my projects. Longest I spent doing it in one sitting was about 3-4 hours and even that killed me haha.
