That wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the fact that global unlock time right now is set at 1pm EST / 10AM PST worldwide on the 1st. Which means for some territories, it won't be unlocking until the 2nd.

Hence why folks are wound up, because of the comments made by Robert Peeler about it unlocking in NZ at midnight NZ time, making it available for everyone who's pre-ordered.
it's a baffling situation.

I do the same for my projects. Longest I spent doing it in one sitting was about 3-4 hours and even that killed me haha.
Anyway I need sleep now. Talk to you guys tomorrow

In the corporate environment, the Q/A is your everyday work force!
I remember when they changed what software we used when I worked customer service, shit didn't work right for the first month or so of the roll out.

it's a baffling situation.

It really is, because as it stands now console copies get both pre-load and unlocks at midnight EST, in the US. Where as PC players get no pre-load (another asinine decision, but there's a whole topic on that) and it doesn't unlock until half way through the 1st in the US, and later in other parts of the world. Obviously the unlock time can change between now and release, but the no pre-load really hurts people with slower internet.

it's very weird. it doesn't even unlock on midnight on the 1st either, but weird arbitrary times like 10am or 1pm.

i'm going to cross my fingers there's a weird arrangement going on that pre-purchasers get to unlock at midnight NZ time, the TPP/GZ bundle disappears, and then the store page for TPP changes over to a single purchase of TPP at the steam unlock time. i swear i saw someone mention an example of this happening with another steam unlock before

In what time zone?

PST, we're in sunny Southern CA.

LOL, nah, my friend brought around his copy, and he let me play it for a few hours.

Which brings me to my question, Tora my good sir, will the PC copy of TPP have action-type-B controls (like GZ did) because unfortunately the PS4 version does not, which threw me for a loop.

thanks for your time.

I had my buddy boot up the PC ver. It has Shooter Type and Action Type under control style, but you can rebind just about anything under key assignments (there are additional control options for pads as well like switching stick inputs and sensitivity, etc). I don't recall exactly how Action Type-B was different but I think it will provide robust enough for your needs.

If you pre-purchase you will be playing at it's earliest release on 9/1. And it should be 9/1 for all territories on Steam, minus perhaps Japan where it launches 9/2.

Cmon Tora, can't you do anything about this second class citizen treatment of pc owners? Especially since everyone with a console already got it early

We did! It was moved from 9/15 to 9/1 to keep parity with console release. I get the frustration, it comes from a place of love, but we're seriously trying to appease all parties here, I assure you.

It's the nature of moving parts, we have no direct control on any platform or first party and certainly not retailers.

Wow I never thought of that. That's brilliant. I was thinking of setting up an elaborate set up of mirrors from my bathroom to my TV.

I love my Vita, but I kinda like this option more for the low budget lolz.

If I ever post something in Japanese which I don't understand, please BAN me.

Dude... they worked their asses off to get the PC version out the same date as consoles.... btw, people who bought the game via PSN need to wait too you know.

If it helps you sleep at night i will get the PS4 version and don't have the game yet, so you're not the only one who has to wait, most people will have to wait for Sept. 1st.

Trust me, every PC player is eternally grateful for this. The two week wait from console launch to PC launch would have been hell.

I wish the game could be unlocked sooner but much grateful for releasing it along side consoles. if this was not done I would not of pre-ordered when I did and lickly would now be sitting her suffering as I wait for the game to unlock.

THANKS ALOT REALLY!

urgh i get it, but it's pretty frustrating. Especially since no preload probably means I'll have to wait until the 2nd.

I really prefer the classic top down stealth of MGS1 and MGS2 but I've been playing lots of Ground Zeroes and have to say I really enjoy it.

It has more arcade stealth DNA than I initially realized. Holding down guards on the ground is just as fun as collecting dog tags, and shooting out lights is much faster than Chaos Theory.

In fact, the less binary nature of getting spotted (shadows and shrubbery give you a 'camo index' so to speak) plus the crouch running are really the only Splinter Cell elements. It is still very much like MGS4 but with a much better aiming system. It's waaaaaay too easy to get tranquilizer headshots in MGS4 with over the shoulder aiming. You almost never have to use first person aiming in MGS4. In Ground Zeroes it's almost straight up preferred.

So it's available to everyone who preordered at the unlock time for NZ, globally? I just wanna be clear.

I'm not sure about the NZ stuff, and generally I would just move away from that. Just go with "What it says on the Steam store page, (subject to change) with a guarantee of 9/1 for those that Pre-purchase."

Is that for keyboard controls only. ?

Action-type-B moved CQC to square.

I don't want to get too deep into it (not sure how much I can say), but I think you should be able to change most if not all the settings to what you need. It's very flexible.

Also, I won't thank him, he's got too much of an ego already, we try to keep him level headed. :D

Ah, it appears that everyone is losing their minds. Pls do not bully the Tora. Simply the messenger.

This is known. I expect nothing less than darting eyes and frothing mouths come Monday.

Tora can you tell us what is wrong with some of the Collector's Editions of The Phantom Pain? Because a lot of people have gotten their preorders cancelled.

Doin' a great job, man! People are just getting riled up that the console editions are breaking street date, which I do not approve of since it leads to this madness. The rest of the 99.98% of people (including myself) need to wait for the official release in 3 days (plus some hours). Thanks for having the PC date pushed forward though!

Thank you. I fully understand that it's probably a hard question to answer. I don't mean to come off as abrasive, I just tend to be very direct. Sorry.

If OT5 is up for the grabs i'd like to have a bash at it, unless of course it's already been decided, then i offer my help to whoever it is that's taken it on!

Don't know if this has been asked before but, have mouse controls been added to menus?

I never done a OT before but I have seen some good looking OTs, I wouldn't mind helping making it one time. like a co-creator. If something comes up and have to abandon I would't want to put someone in the situation of having to rush a OT together.

This isn't confirmed is it? Are CE shipping without the codes it promised?

http://www.twinfinite.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Gd3CsT2.jpg

I actually saw the CE box today at my local GAME and it only had 5 items on it.[/QUOTE]

I wonder if they'll put the DLC that the collector's edition has up for sale separate for the Steam version, since PC didn't get a CE.

Went out shopping today and picked up snacks, soda, and some beer for Monday and Tuesday.

What are you guys planning for launch meal wise?
