Metal Gear Solid Delta replaces the original game's bikini model posters with new pictures and family photos of the same women 21 years later

Is Metal Gear Solid 3 an artful exploration of what patriotism means through shifting national allegiances, or a spy adventure built to appeal most of all to teenage boys? The answer, of course, is simply 'yes,' and nowhere are the game's more prurient intentions apparent than in the array of real-life bikini model posters that you can find throughout the levels. Those posters are still present in the Metal Gear Solid Delta remake, but Konami has also given them a surprisingly wholesome update.

If you play Delta in Legacy Style, you'll see all the old posters upscaled to look more detailed at modern resolutions. But if you play in New Style, you'll see new photos of the same models as they look now, 21 years later. Some of the new images remain a bit spicy – shout out to anybody who can still rock a revealing swimsuit at what must be roughly 40 years old – but others are downright wholesome family photos.

As creative producer Yuji Korekado tells Famitsu (translated by Automaton), Konami reached out to the original game's models and asked for new photos of themselves looking their best. Some responded with traditional modeling photos, while others came back with the more heartwarming images.

I haven't started the game yet (finishing Shinobi first). Is legacy style the original game and new style the...new?

Honestly pretty cute and wholesome.

Cute.

The model with the baby looks exactly the same. Asian genes don't buckle.
She's 39, if you look after yourself grey hairs should be the only worry at that age.
It's when you hit 44+ that aging accelerates.

She still looks 50yo+ tho and we dont know if/how many plastics surgeries/botox etc had been in the works :P
Compared to actually young asian women in their prime she looks like a grandma, not even a milf but full fledged grandma ;D

Even Lucy Liu- probably most famous asian actress(born dec 1968) with access to best plastic surgeons/all crazy beauty products(including tons of make up) and elite asian genetics got visibly older(and less beatiful over the years):

Its true tho the degradation was slower/over a gentler curve vs most avg/normal women :P ).
1991(23yo) vs 2001(33yo) is already big enough to notice she is more mature(aka ugly ).

Meta Easter egg, I like it

I'm not saying she doesn't look like a grandma lol, I'm saying she doesn't look like the meme image grandma. That style of grandma is slowly becoming outdated due to health trends changing over the years.

It's also the gift and the curse of social media. People want to look better or keep looking good to compare to everyone else. Before social media most people would just start 'letting go' of their appearance.

While yes, Asians age at a much slower pace I wouldnt put it only on genetics. Having lived in Asia over 10 years, some things are very apparent;

1. Girls take care of their skin on the 10th level, not just some sunscreen but like 5 products to clean their face before going to bed and washing off makeup (which is mostly minimal unlike western women that some look like they shoved their head in paint)
2. They do "party hard" but asians in general have this thing where not all but most, get flushed skin all over after 1-2 beers. Also they get drunk way easier therefore they dont drink like us animals.
3. Smoking is not so popular (vaping is now) amongst the youth, western girls after hitting 35 look like a crumpled ashtray due to all the partying/drinking/smoking.

TLDR: Get an Asian girl as your wife.

Nice gesture to let the models decide for themselves how they'd want to be portraied in the new version of the game. However, keeping it the way it was wouldn't have been bad, either. Most women would probably be proud of their achievements and how they looked at an earlier point in their lives. Only question that remains is wheather this changes anything about the game that shouldn't have been changed.

4. Food quality and a lot of fish in the diet.

Sure taking care of yourself helps, but the main reasons that stereotype isn't true any more is that East Asian women have become much taller on average in the last 40 years and have lived much easier lives than their elders. As Japan, Korea and China went from third world to first world countries, meat and dairy intake went up, leading to significant height growth. Taller women age better body-wise and they tend to maintain body shape better as they age. Worldwide, South Korea is the country who has had the most average height growth in the past 40 years. Many of today's young female Kpop idols are around 170cm, with many going beyond that. Two of the most popular ones today, An Yu-Jin and Jang Won-young are both around 173-174cm. I can guarantee you they won't look like that stereotype when they're 60. And the other reason I mentioned is important too: women in those countries no longer work the fields or do as much physical labor as their grandparents. They are more likely to work office jobs. The type of work you do also plays a big part in how you age.
