Yes it deserves its own thread because it's all Yoji Shinkawa artwork, no shitty CG renders.

His character art is incredible.

His drawings are mysterious yet when you see the full in game character they have this weird thing going on where they look just like the art yet also fill in the blanks,, perfectly complementing one another.

I've already got half the set for each game, so they've been given based on previous playtime!

I've got the platinum for all games on PS5 but now's my hint to get 100% on Steam!

You get half a set from playing the game. The other you need to trade for (you may have cards from other games the person wants) or buy from other players.

Get a whole set and you can craft a “badge” for the game. This gives you a level 1 badge for the game and you unlock emoticons featuring the game’s characters to use in chat.

Repeat getting a whole set to craft a level 2 badge. And so on.

It’s not something I care for most of the time, but certain games are worth it. It’s a show of dedication and fandom more than anything for me. I have badges for my top games of all time - Onimusha, MGS etc.

I'm lucky enough to have purchased The Art of Metal Gear Solid I-IV back when it was $40. I should've bought two, because I'm scared to open it since it goes for $400 to $800 now.
