Metal Gear Solid V: Gamescom Gameplay Demo

I've been keeping myself in the dark about this game...haven't seen any new trailer footage for the game in about 6 months at least. Haven't read anything either. Wanted to go in as blind as I could, aside from playing GZ. I'm feeling weak though. I want to see the base invasion. The large scale sabotage affecting missions. I don't even know what I am doing in here. I'm skipping anything I detect as talk about specifics in the game, but I don't know how long I can hold out!

If you want to see the base invasion I wouldn't consider it the Gamescom demonstration 'spoilerific'. It does show some late game items (gimmicky and weird ones), There are also the smallest of glimpses at locations outside of Mother Base.

The first 15 minutes of the Gamescom demonstration has minor spoilers for moments within the game related to Mother Base, so definitely avoid that. The second half of the demo is fairly innocuous gameplay, but it does show off some gameplay related things.

You can avoid it if you want but I think avoiding the trailers does a good enough job of keeping you in the dark.

Killer, thanks for the heads up, appreciate the spoilery lookout as well. I'll likely give the Gamescom vidya a peek later tonight. After I've had numerous beers. Many beers. That way I can pass out and maybe not remember it too well, just in case...

I have the fear that the internet, as well as GAF are about to become a spoiler minefield. I know I should just get in the bunker and put my head in the sand, but my need for more non-spoiler info draws me back in. It is such a vicious cycle.

Ever since I upgraded to Win10, MGSGZ has been eating CPU up like candy. Like hitting 80 percent when it was at 40 percent before. Guess it's PS4 version for me :(.

Is it running worse for you whilst hitting 80%?

Also, that seems like a bug...

Nah, it's running better, I think.

But I hope it is a bug. I'm afraid to buy the PC version if this is the result - a smoking computer.

I had already planned to double dip, but I was hoping my first outing to be PC first, then PS4 just to have the disc.

Do you have any noticeable input lag in GZ on W10?

I don't think so. Everything seemed responsive and smooth, just my computer freaking out like I was playing Batman.

I just played a bit of it. In game, it was definitely in the 80s while windowed. Before, it was like 40s windowed rarely.

He already deleted the tweet.

Wonder if there will be another gameplay video dropping before Sept 1st or if it's too close to justify it. I felt the gameplay vids were light on spoilers, thankfully.

I don't think we'll get another gameplay vid before release. Launch trailer is the last trailer. And maybe an MGO trailer if we're lucky (?).

So torn on which version to get between PS4 and PC. Leaning towards double dipping, buying on PS4 first and then waiting for an eventual steam sale to play through again sometime next year.

That's my plan. I'm not convinced my current PC will be able to push the game any further than the PS4 will, but I'll double dip somewhere down the line when I've got more powerful hardware (and when the modding community has had their way with the game :P).

God i hope there are more than two locations, hope the leaks about the other two besides afg and afr are true. I mean afr looks cool, jungle and all that shit but afg looks boring as fuck, everything i seen so far about afg looks the same, these old ruins/buildings are bases/outposts and thats probably it.

It seems they have a decent variety of areas and geography within each war zone but I tend to agree. I think ultimately I'll be disappointed if it's just those 2 maps.

Peace Walker's Cuba would have been an interesting area to explore for the visual variety. It would have probably made for a cool open world.

Guys, I'm a little bit in the dark about the MGO stuff. Is there a separate MP component to the game like the MGO of MGS4? Or is this Mother Base invasion thing all that we're getting in that regard?

MGO is a seperate component that will release on consoles a month after the game comes out, free with MGSV.

MGO is sperate stuff like how it was in MGS4.

The mother base invasion stuff (FOB) is not part of MGO. It's part of MGSV TPP
