More to the point, there were and are many reasons for this thread to be here.
For a start, Kojima himself and KojiPro already started this comparison themselves 2 days ago, which may I add was discussed without issue from all involved no matter what platform they supported. Nvidia then got the raw caps from konami and did the same thing and explained what was new giving a better idea as to the system requirements and how they relate
This is all useful stuff for those interested. The moment that this was posted as a "vs ps4" thread, is where it turned into the same nonsence of the other "compare platform" and "digital foundry" threads. Take from that what you will

This is starting to really bother me. I don't know why they do it, but more so, I didn't realise that they have been doing this consistently for a long time with no discernable reason for it that I can tell. I do hope it changes for you and all the others that seem to be locked out

I can buy PES2014 on Steam in SGD. It is cheaper too!
MGSV is showing on Steam unlike MGS:R
I can see MGSV, but I have no confidence it will stay there, and you can't preorder it.
I can't buy PES though or any Konami game.
I really don't get why such a significant number of Japanese Steam releases are locked out of Asia/Japan.

What I really want to buy is MGR:R though...
It's not that extreme, but yeah, it's huge.
It's stupid policy that Konami and Sega seems to be doing. I can't buy games like Metal Gear Rising and Valkyria Chronicle from the store.

Gotta agree. Pop ups are more distracting than aliasing once you get really immersed in a game.

at least ground zeroes is getting a japanese release on pc. who knows if that extends to the whole of asia though.
It's merely a purchasing restriction. You can have the games gifted from someone else just fine (e.g. a US GAFer) or even activate retail keys (albeit with the help of a VPN).

At the very least it's the more authentic experience.
It's not like they worked on the PC one and then just started taking things out for the other versions.

I believe it has been said that the E3 2014 demo takes place during a different time of day... but I'm not 100% sure on that.
The ground has simpler geometry too.

I think you'll really see the difference in motion, especially with an open world kinda game like Phantom Pain, with things aren't popping in all the time on PC
Yeah they removed a lot of the little stones. They have added a lot of stuff in the background though like more trees so they might of just moved resources around.

Yeah playing it on the PS4 things that weren't even that far away were popping in and out so not having to see that will be a welcome change.
Well they could optimize the engine fir the ps4 for TPP. But I wouldn't expect pc ultra settings.
