ok what the fuck the only thing the is getting on my nerves is were do i get ammo supply... im having to get a lethal hand gun to replace my zzz traq gun then i have to get the traq gun to replace that gun thats the only way i can figure out how to get a new silcener and more traq ammo is there a better way.... and wow the silcener succcccccccks ...

it seems like i cant just get a new gun if i have it equipped... :/

That fucking prologue killed me.....Kojima you amazing bastard.

I'm playing 1 hour at a time. I'm taking my time with this shit.

There is a lot of game.

Played all weekend and I feel like I have barely scratched the surface in 15 hours. It's like the exact opposite of MGSIV.

Yessss just got home early from work.

Now I can finally play.

The time has come.
And so have I.

V has come to

Hey bro use your Idroid to call in a supply drop! It will contain ammo and supressors!

It's really ridiculous just how much being prone keeps you hidden. Guards can walk a couple steps by you and not notice. Seems more effective than even in Ground Zeroes. I recommend it if you're having trouble stealthing past areas.

for some reason my ps4 tells me that the day one update is going to take 2hrs to download a 400mb file, which is painfully slow. It shouldnt be so slow considering my internet is really fast. I've speedtested my internet on my computer, ps4 and iphone and it shows that I still have the network capasity(100mb down, 10mb up) that I bought, but i am still downloading this patch awfully slow (~0.7 megabytes per second) which is not even close to the perfomance i should have...

Anyone else have this issue?

I heard people telling me I need to press Square (PS4) button in the music menu to set it as Helicopter theme, but I can't do it. Do I have to unlock the feature later on? Or specific place I need to do them? ( I am doing it inside the chopper)

Ditto. Well, last night I played two hours, but basically I thought I was going to steamroll through this game. However, I find myself playing an hour and feeling quite satisfied, even if I really want to keep playing. So, anyway, I'm going to really let this drip-feed my soul.

I even stop the game after every single mission and listen to all of the tapes that I have unlocked.

Finding it really fustrating as a all digital gamer this gen. On the UK PSN the game is 60 pounds yet can be found online and in Supermarkets for 40 pounds. A 20 pound mark up for a product that has less productions costs than physical. I know publishers set the price but that's madness.

Bought this as a birthday gift for a family member but seriously considering keeping it. It's huge!
You should keep it, the collector's edition guide is massive. Approx. 40 pages on story and biographies alone, not only on MGSV but on all main Metal Gear games. 48-page art gallery with comments by Kojima, 150+ pages map-based walkthrough. 416 pages in total.

There's an official flip-through video of the guide (beware of spoilers such as the full map poster, depending on how sensitive you are):

how early are you? I haven't try to set song to my heli too, but I'm sure I saw a heli upgrade that allow you to install loudspeaker so it can play songs.

So now that the save transfer is live has anyone found if Camp Omega is in the game and what the big feature that Kojima was hinting is?

I'm trying to get the same steelbook but I have my doubts, specially with that price on ebay (almost $40 for one), if you find anything about it, please let me know

Well, that's the thing. It can be had for around $20-30 from international sellers. That is, if you don't mind the questionable UPC symbol on the back. Not a big deal for a lot of people but I don't think the genuine case Konami is using has one.

Yes thats where you do it. Maybe you have to get it a little later? Just keep doing missions and the icon will pop up there.

Nothing better then blasting amazing music when your chopper comes and pick you up.

You unlock it mate. Upgrade your Helicopter when you can!

I need some advice because I'm not sure I understand what the game wants from me.

I'm trying to play it mgs1-4 style but it's not working out so well:

-guards don't stay knocked out for very long
-I can't see any stars over the heads counting down that would indicate how close an enemy was to waking up from other MGS games
-sneaking up behind a guard to choke him out has a very small window usually (requires a ton of patience to learn his pattern and make sure no other guard patrols will see me) and I have to painfully slowly walk crouch up to him or he will hear me. Is this super slow walk crouch really how I'm going to choking guards all game? The walk is painfully slow.
-The open nature makes it very easy to lose track of one of the guards and get spotted (I usually get spotted while crouching past a window while inside a house it seems)

I've only done the prologue and the first mission but I was spotted a whopping 6 times during the first mission and got a C rank:(

Any beginner tips or general tips on how to approach combat?

Am I not supposed to take out guards one by one with cqc like in other MGS games?
The sleeping dart pistol was always kind of a 'cheat' to get past certain situations in a pinch or to use when cornered, so I'm reluctant to rely on it.

Am I not supposed to study their patterns and solve it like a puzzle like in older MGS games?

I've been playing PP like how I have any other MGS game and it's been working fine, the only thing is you have to up your play style as the game has also made the level design and enemy AI much much more complicated. I've played missions using the tranq, and just CQCing everybody. Both methods neither feel like a cheat, or game breaking by any means. And marking enemies is definitely not un-metal gear considering how many blind spots there are.

You should also upgrade equipment according to that play style. Get better camo, and distraction items etc.

Is the share function fixed now? over the weekend you could not share screens from the game at all.

also LOL still no server connection here in the EU

So what button or how to do you prompt to pet DD when he is a pub?

I think you need to get a loud speaker for it first.

that's the advantage of using the right camo most likely, you will be able to develop non camo suits later on.

Question about mission 11
the fight against quiet - I don't have a stun sniper rifle yet. If I shoot her with a dmg sniper rifle, will she die and thus disappear from the game?

Can anyone say where the cheapest PC store is for this online? I'm pretty new to buying games for PC. I heard GOG was cheap but i don't see it on there

Has anyone been having audio distortion? Also a few times while moving Snake has became locked into a circular motion for a few seconds then it becomes fine again. Not the controller since I've tried three.

No, you won't kill her if you use a normal sniper.
(You just won't get S ratting for the mission)

You basically have to either Fulton them, tranq them while they're stunned or not stun them in the first place but either tranq them or hold them up and then get them down.
Bear in mind stun durations vary depending on how you stunned them: typically, KOing them with punches or a regular CQC throw will lead to a shorter stun time than a CQC throw into a wall or choking them.

-sneaking up behind a guard to choke him out has a very small window usually (requires a ton of patience to learn his pattern and make sure no other guard patrols will see me) and I have to painfully slowly walk crouch up to him or he will heard me. Is this super slow walk crouch really how I'm going to choking guards all game? The walk is painfully slow.
The sneaking suit helps a lot in that regard as it makes your footsteps a lot less audible. Practically, this means you shouldn't be heard when doing a regular crouch walk to sneak up on an enemy.

Until you unlock it, things are probably going to suck though (IIRC, I had unlocked it by the time I reached mission 10, no idea if the one you get from the GZ save import is the same).

-The open nature makes it very easy to lose track of one of the guards and get spotted (I usually get spotted while crouching past a window while inside a house it seems)
That's what marking is for and that's why marking isn't cheating, it's just a way to rebalance the game in an open world context. That means recon is crucial and whenever you approach a base, you should find some high ground to scope out as many enemies as possible. Ideally, find several vantage points to get different angles.
As you progress, motherbase development and buddies will make this easier but the first few hours are raw infiltration.

The sleeping dart pistol was always kind of a 'cheat' to get past certain situations in a pinch or to use when cornered, so I'm reluctant to rely on it.
Bear in mind the silencer breaks easily anyway at first, so either have a very focused use of the tranq gun or call supply drops. For any given guard, I tend to always evaluate: how approachable he is for a hold up or a chokehold or how avoidable he is, ie how much I can simply ignore him. Overall, I usually drill one specific path through a base, darting as few guards as possible and leaving the rest alone and once I'm in, I try to figure out how to take them out in close quarters.

Am I not supposed to study their patterns and solve it like a puzzle like in older MGS games?
See above, you can. It's just that there are so many in large zones that I tend to remove some variables first with tranqs and only then, once I'm managing a more local situation, do I figure out the best route.

Buy from the us psn store. You can buy digital psn cards at cost from amazon.com. You don't even need to make a new amazon account. Your uk account will do. All you have to do is add a dummy US address to your amazon account. The codes are sent by email, so it doesn't matter what address you use. Oh, and create a us psn account too. Buy from the us store and play on your main account. Been doing it for a few years now without trouble. As have many of my friends.

Nope, you're all good.

Shit. And to think I (mission 11 spoiler)
wasted all that time with the tranq pistol.

Some people have said no, you get a decision after the fight whether to take her or leave her, regardless of the means.

Do what i did and outsnipe her with the tranq pistol :3 :3

Want to send a shoutout to Amazon.com since they still havent shipped my copy of the collectors edition. Sigh. Oh well, gives me time to do side ops missions, until the main game arrives.

Finally S ranked mission 9. The side tasks are a ball ache as well though.

There isn't a trophy for doing every side task in each mission is there? :lol

After telling the electronics person at Walmart that the game was in a shipping box behind the counter and her not believing me leading to a 20 minute search for the game, another worker was like here it's in this box behind the counter

I'm surprised at how similar the strucrure is to Peace Walker, which I assumed was only used as a portable way to play MGS. I guess Kojima realized it was a good way to give a player freedom.
