I'm really liking Kiefer (what little he has to go on). There's a gravitas and subtley to it which I think is perfect for Big Boss. It also helps separate the character more from Solid Snake. If the guy had more dialogue (and all the cutscenes were actual scenes with conversations, not one line after another destined to be in a trailer) I think more people would be TeamKiefer.

I love MGS1 David Hayter, but listen to him in Peace Walker and for some reason, his VA went seriously downhill. The simplest of lines could sound awkward there.

Still stuck after doing mission 41 because (spoilers from here on out)
the game isn't offering me any more missions or side ops to do to help push the story onwards, even though I know there's still more of the story to have. Like there's scenes in the chapter two trailer I've yet to see properly in the game, including Snake's mental breakdown that's also shown at the end of the E3 trailer this year
.

HELP.

I have a bionics, cybernetics, huey emmerich and the most advanced bionic prosthetic sonar/stun/rocketu punchu arm.

...And kaz is still without an arm and has a walking stick. Talk about having to live under the shadow of big boss lol. Why no love for kaz, R & D division?
He doesn't want prosthesis.

I did hit L1 on a flying bird (a Raven) and Ocelot brought up how he has heard about Shamen up in the artic viewing those as God's or Totems. Just a tiny bit of MGS1 foreshadowing.

Well that's pretty neat. I really hope Ocelot gets more time to express himself or develop or....SOMETHING. He's just so underwhelming in this game, and is easily my biggest dissapointment by far.

There's a tape where Kaz absolutely shits all over the idea of getting a prosthetic limb because of WANTING TO FEEL THE PAIN OF HIS LOST COMRADES or something. Bless him.

I love MGS1 Snake because of how... unaffected it is compared to all the other games. It's mostly just young David Hayter. Everything after that, including Twin Snakes, he starts ratcheting it up. I know Kojima specifically asked for it to go overboard in MGS4, but we never heard that MGS1 voice ever again.

Ahhhh lost my first chopper.

Ambushed by Walkers at the oil depot in Mission 13. Epic Battle. Feels like the game is ramping up now

Was joking to myself about fultoning two of every animal and creating my own noah's ark and then around mission 10
you get to build your own zoo
This game is incredible

Favourite moment so far was on Mission 12
"Take on me" by A-ha blaring from the chopper as metal gear is firing rockets at me LOL!

It's pretty obvious Kojima wanted to portray Miller as a really pissed off and vengeful guy stuck in the past. Big Boss wants to move towards the future, Miller is just kinda losing his marbles a bit in this game. Dare I say even a bit evil now.

Complete mission 2
2
and they'll be available to build.
'Copy That'
Anybody else feel that non-lethal is not really viable way? At least for me, so far.

Tranq pistol only keeps them asleep for what it seems to be like 10 minutes, afterwards.. they wake up and I think they alert somebody? In any case, they're back and returning to their patrols. Same goes for knocking them out. It doesn't leave you very long to get in and do what you have to do.

I don't know, I think it's feasible. I'm usually able to get done with the mission or get out the area before they wake up. Also, I do usually use 1-3 tranq depending if I miss. Even then I found that
Assault Rifle that shoots rubber bullets
. I just can't work with the cover system for takedowns.

PRO TIP!

USE YOUR CARDBOARD BOX TO GO BETWEEN ALL YOUR AREAS OF MOTHERBASE

so much faster than calling the helicopter and taking a ride

so you did all the replays? Guess you just have to grind mission?

if we're talking about the same mission there are 2 large water tanks (big vertical ones). Plant c4 at the base and detonate when he is close

I feel so dumb for not doing this but I guess this just shows how many ways to play the game. I did it like this:

Shot him to make him follow you, then jumped into the car, drove into him and then the little reservoir.

Ocelot is shit in this. He doesn't have a personality.

Hopefully he has some character in MGO.

That's very disappointing. Easily in my top 3 favorite characters, when he showed up I clapped.

Is he given more in the cassettes? What an odd transition from the cutscenes, which I honestly enjoyed.

A bit confused, I did the first mission with the extraction, but it seems I missed out on other missions within it? They had question marks on them, am I suppose to find some kind of intel or travel to all the areas or something?

You should be fultoning them or either holding them up and telling them to get down, or holding them up and knocking them out. Plan out your route, too. If you see yourself coming back that way by a post or patrol, plan on being faster or avoiding them.

There are a ton of tools to help you through the game without killing people. Knocking out communications prevents reinforcements, so even if they wake up and you are at a base, they won't come and visit.

Make distractions with C4 and have them check it out.

Use the boxes. You could seriously clear a small base with a box in a few minutes, provided you have the right pictures.

It comes down to two things with this game - speedy stealth and pre-planning. I

What's the efficient way of raising soldiers morale and how often do you go visit MB?

I'm 15 hours in or so and lately I've been putting every soldier in a quick CQC choke hold. Am I doing this right? I noticed by doing that it puts a green triangle over their head. I'm assuming that indicates their morale was raised? Just a quick jab to their face and you'll get that notification that morale was raised. Do I need to do this to every soldier to raise their morale or just one or a few and the whole MB morale will be raised? Thanks fellow Diamond Dogs!

Finally connected online and downloaded GZ save file.

Not only is the loading of menu in iDroid MUCH SLOWER but I don't even see any of my GZ soldiers.

WTF :(
You don't get GZ soldiers until (episode number spoilers)
the end of Chapter 1

And yeah, iDroid is slow af when connected online. Another reason to set up FOB online and then go offline.

Oh man, just finished mission
16
in the most haphazard unmajestic way possible. Basically extracted everything and ran for my life. Almost died 3 times before the enemies just vanished when I got out of the hot zone.

I went back to offline because of how badly the online connection to the servers was affecting the game.

My GZ soldiers only JUST came in and I uploaded the save several hours ago. :lol

Visiting, plants, punches, etc. Some characters might even do so on their own, but some start shit for no reasons. Assholes.

By the way, I guess you can cut powerlines? But I have no clue what it does. Kudos on them for allowing me to blow up comm towers so I don't get endless reinforcements.

I redeemed my collectors edition code but i dont see the Rex head for MGO,when do we get that or did i miss it due its name being something else?

Every time
Big Boss falls on the arm he just ripped from his socket
in the prologue I cringe.

Also, I'm glad I went on black out since the game was announced. That VGA trailer would have ruined the prologue.

The checkpointing is really really random. One mission I remember it checkpointed me into a corner that made me restart, this mission I'm on now I run halfway across the map blowing up tanks and fulfilling my objective, I go for some more tanks and lose all progress when I get killed.

Is it possible to turn off all the names of people and enemies you will face at the beginning of a mission?

Closing your eyes is an effective tool.

A bit confused, I did the first mission with the extraction, but it seems I missed out on other missions within it? They had question marks on them, am I suppose to find some kind of intel or travel to all the areas or something?

I've found other sub missions by requesting Intel about specific objects through the binoculars. I'm not sure if that method is ubiquitous.

I need to use the boxes more.

He has plenty of dialogue in the cassettes, but for me the problem is that he doesn't look, sound or act anything like the Ocelot of the previous games. They don't even acknowledge that him and Big Boss actually know eachother outside of one throwaway line in a cassette.

Do new side ops eventually stop unlocking if you don't do main missions? Or are there some side ops that require you to do main missions first? Like how it was in Peace Walker, basically. Or is it different?
