How do you turn off auto assign? When I click in the right stick I get 2 options: auto assign waiting staff, or auto assign all units. No option to turn it off.

How do I get new troops automatically sent to waiting room?

Can someone answer me why after completing certain side ops the mission menu will have them checked off as completed but remain in white and have the dot signifying new missions still intact. I think I completed the prisoner extraction 2 one three times and it still shows up.

So my early impressions/gripes. Done about 2 missions and 1 side op. About 6 or so hours in.

Minor Gripes.

-Why cant they use commas for the GMP money? And why does it have to all start so high as a base price. Basically it looks like this when deciding what to research.

Item 1 50000000 550000000 (first number being cost, 2nd being what you currently have)

A bit annoying trying to quickly glance what percentage of your GMP an item will actually cost. Commas would help, or just not have GMP start off in the several thousands. Could have easily been 500 5,500

-Credits before and after everything. Really makes the game feel disjointed. Kinda missing the push through a coherent and seamless story. Like in most every other MGS game, or even other open world games.

-The long cut scenes just trying to go start and end a mission. To start a mission we have to call the chopper, (not sure where it actually is parked, and not sure why it just cant be parked already on the MB helipad. Looks like it flies out from under the sea?) So we wait for it to fly around for a bit and then hover over the helipad, finally get in, then it waits around some more, then it eventually takes off and then we have to circle around the MB a bit for even longer, and then we are finally loaded into the ACC after another loading screen. This could all be done in a fraction of the time. I couldn't find a way to skip any of this yet.

-I still don't understand all the MB crew assignment stuff yet. What does selecting a member even do, I can select and unselect, but doesn't seem to do anything? Why are some locked? why are some highlighted next to their name? Some short tutorial would have helped. All I have done is just auto assign, but some clarification/details would be cool. Maybe I was supposed to watch the long MB video on YT?

I probably have more. But if anyone has any input or suggestions on this stuff, that would be cool.

Otherwise really digging the actual game parts, Lighting is amazing, open world missions are great, control and performance are top notch.

Holy shit! I just did the tank convoy mission, and the way it played out was fucking amazing. The way things can just come together is really exciting. I was scouting out the village from across the road, and I noticed that there was a good approach from the left cliff path, but there's a sniper positioned there watching. So i tried to find a way around, but it wasn't looking good, then my intel team suddenly told me a sandstorm was approaching. FUCK YES! I positioned myself waiting for it to hit, then ran like a motherfucker up the path while in the cover of the storm, and tranq'd the sniper before he knew what hit him. Then I carried his body as I went further in to find a good place to hide and wait.

Once the storm passed, I tranq'd another two guys, dropped the sniper's body in the open, and fultoned everyone to attract the attention of everyone else so they would start coming out to look. I grabbed the first guy to get the location of the operation base in the village, and climbed up to it before anyone could notice and got all the intel.

Then I tried to rambo the tanks in the open with a basic rocket launcher, and died like a bitch, lol. On a retry, I exited the operation base housing, and made my way back through the side cliff where I came from, and started laying C4 all over the path, then I called for two more supply drops and laid more C4 all over and hid behind a rock waiting for the convoy to arrive. The C4 took out the first tank instantly, but only managed to damage the truck a little, and the commander got out and started attacking me. I shot him up with a rifle but he wasn't dead, ran up.... extraction chance 30%.... I took my chances, but it just wasn't his day to survive. RIP.

It took like 5-6 more hits from the rocket launcher to take out the other tank, but it turns out that large pieces of rock in Afghanistan are immune to tank shells. So it was BIG BOSS - 2, TANKS - 0. :p

All the soldiers from the village started coming after me, but D-Horse is just too fast for them. Mmmmmmm.

I've only done like two or three missions, but this game is a lot of fun so far.

Got to say though sometimes there's a bit much text. Like, I got a voice recording running and Ocelot talks over it and he's saying stuff I already know and repeating it three times.

How do I go to the medical bay? do I unlock it? construct it??

Also I appreciate the weather and sandstorms that help me a lot

I'm pretty sure I got them after I redeemed the code that came with GZ and finished a mission.

I bought GZ digitally when it came out and never got a code. :\

There's also a couple tattoo'd soldiers that should be around even if you own GZ that I don't have.

Ah, well, I guess I'll try the save download again.

This annoys me to death. If I'm on mother base, I should be able to just select the mission I want. Then the chopper comes in, we fly away and then it loads the mission area. I shouldn't have to have an extra load scene plus the slow zoom inside the ACC. There shouldn't even been a load scene for getting in the ACC. It should just shut the door and then you're there. The chopper is already loaded when I hop in the damn thing. What else does it need to do?

Does D Dog get more obedient as your bond increases?

He seems to stay put for about 10 seconds when I tell him to wait and then he's right next to me again.

He's got caught by my stun arm twice now, and the pitiful yelp he gives out makes me feel guilty

- Money: True, I find it irrelevant though.
- Credits: Nothing important either but yeah, seems kinda weird, I think they thought we would be playing one mission at the time and wanted this to work as episodes? whatever, you can skip end credits though.
- Missions: I don't know, if I'm in mother base I have to go to the chopper to start a side op, then the chopper take me to the field and I do the task, after that I stay in the field and mark a story mission and it appears on the map and I've to go to the selected area by the mean I please, there's no need to go to the chopper all the time, once you are in the field you can stay there and do stuff.
- Soldiers: It'll click to you, at least the important parts, I don't know what de lock thing do but you must assing soldiers to different areas, they are assigned by default but most of the time they aren't in their best field of work. I used to do the same as you with the auto assign but is useless, they are already assigned.

(I'm past mission 6 and 10 side ops, 14hs in).

I'm with you on the confusing crew assigning stuff. The game so far hasn't explained half of that and I don't know what I'm doing at all. I couldn't even find anything much about it in the manual. There are so many icons and things going on that I'm like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I wish you launched missions from Mother Base instead of the ACC. It would make more sense and also give you a real reason to actually go there.

Does anyone know if it is possible to add custom soundtracks to the PS4 version of this game, or is it only a "exclusive" option on the PC? (As I have a few awesome tracks that come to my mind which would go very well with the game..)

I would like to do this, except you need to go to the MB, to get your new MB staff(maybe?), also to reload up on all your ammo and fultons(for free), take a shower, etc. If I could do all that w/o having to get back in the chopper, or go to MB, that would be cool.

So I upgraded my iDroid with speakers. What does that even do? Does that mean I can blast music from it and people will hear it too? Why would I want anyone knowing Im listening to Kids in America for the 20th time?

Stare at Quiet in First Person view for at least 5 seconds while aboard the ACC (one per visit) +0.5

ALL applies

You deal nonlethal damage to a buddy -1
You deal damage to a buddy -1.5

What does this do? Why would I want +#? The more I have the better my buddy is?

You can. Request an ammo refill and you get suppressors, Fulton, and ammo.

Then ride a horse/vehicle to the next mission you want.

I did a side-op,
extracted the target
, and now it's showing a checkmark as though it were done, but it's not greyed out for some reason. And it seems like I can go back and do it again. Did I do something wrong?

It means you can do it a second time and get another one of that prisoner type or whatever.
Some times it's lit up but other times it isn't depending on other factors which I am not sure of.

It took me 3 evacs before I realized what was going on lol.

All that really matters is the check mark.

Edit: DON'T READ THE ASSHOLES POST ABOVE ME. THERE ARE SPOILERS.

I was just randomly wandering around Mother Base and suddenly
fucking Paz jumps out with no introduction. What interactions can you have with her apart from showing that one photo? Is there similar stuff randomly hidden away, like it was hinted Quiet's interrogation cutscenes were?

Spoiler that stuff fast.
