There are doors with red lights above them that play the old school locked double buzz from previous games. One door in particular has a blue light. You may not have that platform built yet (it's one of the earlier major platforms)

If you want to know specifically which platform

Medical Platform

Just got to this part and holy shit.

WHY IS THE COMPANION APP NOT SUPPORTED ON iPhone5?

I updated my phone from iOS7 to 8.4.1 because it said I had to and now it says the iPhone 5 hardware is not supported.

I updated for no reason. Wish it would have told me the hardware wasn't supported first so I didn't go to iOS 8

On the cassette tab in the i-droid just play a song you've collected and there should be a prompt at the bottom for "set as helicopter music".

You have to have developed the upgrade for a speaker on your chopper for it to work though.

edit; Ninja'd by Mentalbroccoli. Dayum this thread moves fast.

Open up your idroid while sitting in the helicopter and move to the song you want. On Ps4 you press Square to set the helicopter music from there.

Thanks!

I notice this game does thing as Ground Zeroes where the PS4 fan goes crazy in the title screen and helicopter menu but is fine in normal gameplay.

Is anybody currently using a Dualshock 4 on the PC version?

Does it show the PS4 buttons? Trying to use the binoculars on the XB1 controller is fucking agony for my finger.

What is the free roam mode for? Are there exclusive stuff I can only find there or is it just a more free way of doing the same missions?

I'm entertained. That's what matters.
Reductionary breakdowns don't change that.

Eli
's voice acting is disgusting. We're talking nearly as bad as this [redacted]:

Woke up at 5am to play a couple hours before work! Played through the prologue which was pretty cool, but not The Last Of Us memorable, IMO. I wouldn't replay this tho show other people... which I did with Last of Us several times. Plus it's way too long for that anyways... and slow moving in the beginning.

Leaves you guessing about some things though... that's for sure.

Oddly... I've already accepted Keefer as the new Snake. His voice does fit very well... I'm playing Peace Walker on Vita in parallel and I'm already liking Keefer more!

I really want Quiet as a buddy, would prefer her over DD or DH.

No big spoilers, but do I need to do anything out-of-the-way to activate her as a buddy? Been
visiting her in her cell quite a lot, listening to all the tapes, etc.

OK what I did was, listen to all her tapes, visit her after every mission and side-op. Then when I unlocked the new area I completed one or two main missions there. Ocelot then contacted me asking me to visit her.

Boom, you now have a new buddy.

That Chicken Hat sounds hilarious.

Is the game roughly 30 hours long if you just plow through the main story missions? I think that's what I've read, but I've also heard 50 hours, but I assume that includes messing with side ops for the fun of it and not for story progression.

No way is it 30 hours. 30 hours would be a Chicken Hat runthrough, and even then you'd encounter problems.

I'm getting towards 20 hours and I'm only on mission 13 or something. I'd call the game 40-50 hours.

It's fucking good though. You'll enjoy it.

Yeah, not sure yet how to watch out for them.. ;P

Totally depends on context mate. Sometimes you'll get a prisoner with a lead, sometimes you have to eavesdrop on guards, sometimes you pick up intel in a building. Just keep your ears out and pay close attention to each base you travel through in a side op or main mission. Opportunities for new side ops quite often.

I didn't plow through the game, but it was about that for me. 35 or so hours, with 30% of the side missions done, before I saw the credits roll.

Still playing it though, about 58 hours in, and there's still stuff to get done.
By that you mean
the first credits, right? 'cause it took me 55 hours to reach the actual ending.

thats not the end. Thats the beginning of Chapter 2.

Edit:Beaten to the punch it seems

What percentage completion do you have? I ask out of curiosity.

My percentage completion coincided with my hours played all the way through, I was wondering if that's the same for you.

Edit that.

Edit that.

Edit:
Thanks.

Free Roam allows you to continue doing side ops without interruption between missions, as long as you don't need an extraction to resupply. It's pretty cool.

Regarding buddies.

I think DD and Quiet are the best choices for buddies, especially due to their scouting ability, Quite's sniping is great because of how you can use it to quickly clear up a route or distract enemies and because she can take out enemies that are about to discover you. I mostly use quite for missions that require me to infiltrate an enemy stronghold and DD for missions that has an awful lot of enemy and requires me to search for multiple targets.

D Walker can be useful in certain situations, especially outpost missions because of the tranq gun's firerate and accuracy but for anything else that requires infiltration...it's useless.

DH is the most useless buddy, the only thing it's useful for is transport and once you are able to request vehicles he loses all of his value.

This thread went from MGS fans complaining about lack of cutscenes to new comers complaining about the opening.

i think kojima trolled us again.
you didn't like Raiden? Go play old snake in MGS4 as raiden kicks ass.
you didn't like the longs cutscens in MGS4? Here is MGS5 with almost no cutscenes whatsoever.
i see it as a big, smiling "f**k you" from him :D

You disappoint me, Ozium :(

So I had no idea (prologue spoiler)
you make your own character.

Cool...but can I just make him look like the default Snake from Ground Zeroes?

Thanks for the responses. I just like going into a game with knowledge of the time commitment to finish (and even then, if I get hung up I put the game down for a few months). Took me until a few weeks ago to finish Bloodborne (albeit, I took two months off from it).

Stoked to start playing tonight!

Stayed up until 3 AM last night to play the Prologue and Mission 1. Heck of an opening, I don't think it quite reaches Last of Us tier, the pacing is off, as others have pointed out, but it was still pretty crazy and impactful.

Mission 1 though, that's when this game stepped it up. Some of the best stealth gameplay ever, the excellent controls of Ground Zeroes are back, but the open-world nature really opens up your possibilities and really makes it feel like you're infiltrating this base using your own skills and tactics, not just avoiding enemies until you get to the next room.

do you even like movies?

Yea you can't finish this game in 30 hours, unless you are using the chicken hat and mowing down everything.

I am about 24 hours in and done about 21 missions.
