This matters very little obviously, lives of people take priority. But I do wonder what will happen to Metro and Stalker francizes since they clearly were very russian influenced even if Stalker starts from Chernobyl initially. I imagine the russian imagine for these ukrainian dev team is forever tainted. To be honest, we had 3 very good Metro games, I think they are a talented team and would love to see them do something new. For the Stalker team I imagine that is too far into dev to move to something else (not that they need to necessarily).

Were they Russia influenced? Metro yes, but Glukhovsky wrote his novel through forum with international audience and he is now on hunt list by Russian government, due to his pretty severe criticism of the regime.

As for Stalker, Road side picnic were done by Georgian authors, with large influence of what happened in today's Ukraine (Chornobyl disaster), so not really.

Both of these games were done by Ukrainian developers.

Awful news. Metro games are very good. The novels even more so. I hope he is in a happier place now. This war is so fucking meaningless. So many casualties for nothing.
