I had issues with the openvpn method to activate the game early (tried lots of servers from vpngate), but the games just activated for me using spotflux. Or do you mean console stores? Can't help you there, I am afraid.
Yeah, that's the only thing disappointing about it on consoles from a tech standpoint for me. It seems like the consoles are straight High settings which seems to have motion blur off.

Wife just picked up my PS4 copy from Best Buy. They had no copies out on the floor, so she had to wait while they went digging. Then they couldn't get the $10 gift card promo working properly, so they had to do some workaround. Either way, it'll be there waiting for me when I get home!

Actually, I am not so sure if the early activation in EU works after all. Logged in with spotflux or after going to offline mode, both reduxes appears to be fully playable and show the usual "play" button. But when I try to start one of them, a prompt appears for authorizing Steam Client Service to make changes to the computer, and after that an extremely short lived windows tells me "Performing first time setup ... Installing: msiexec (step 1 of 1)", followed by me being kicked back to the Steam menu.
Anyone else having similar issues? What could I try to fix this?

Haha, now that I think about it, the bloom does look a little OP in your pics.
Also I've come to the assumption that the game is bugged in the PhysX department. I tested about 10 PhysX enabled games, including the original Last Light and 2033, and they all use the GPU for PhysX, but for some reason Metro Redux uses the CPU. I'll wait for a patch.

Well I played Metro 2033 some time ago on my PC, and besides I wasnt able to keep it on the highest settings and neither 60fps I was impressed by the game visual quality (was better then on consoles), I would say it was the most impressive game side by side with Crysis imo... In movement the thing was damn pretty! I hope that on Xbox One I will have a more impressive experience with the Redux enchancements, 60fps and better specs (compared to what I played), even if it lacks motion blur. But by what Ive watched it seems pretty damn good anyway!
SSAA goes to like 4X I think and there's a very high option for motion blur, that's about it.

I'm assuming that 4xSSAA has a significant impact on frames per second?
3840*2160, Very high, 4xSSAA, very high tessellation and Advanced Physx set to on.
4xSSAA multiplies your resolution by 4 if I'm not mistaken.

Anyone else having trouble saving on PC? I was a little over an hour in before heading to bed last night. Fired up 2033 just now and my time is now gone. I also see that the cloud sync isn't working for this game.
I'm not alone with the save issue. Official Steam forums tell that story

Waiting for the store to update too! Really wanted to buy it right now spontaneously.
You would think Sony would start to update the store early morning due to new releases shipping at retail.

After playing about 2 hours of 2033 Redux on PC I can safely say it's sooo much better than vanilla 2033 and that's coming from someone who is a massive fan of the original.
I prefer all the mechanics they brought over from Last Light. It dramatically improves the playability of it.
The original also ran really shitty on my system, drops from 60 to 20 to 80 etc. It was really unstable but 2033 Redux is running smooth as butter around 70fps on High at 1080p. It's pretty gorgeous.
I really like the added little sections too. Like an extra door here or there. Really impressed so far.

they've been pretty good about preloading and midnight releases lately, metro seems like a weird outlier

It's all over their promo material that it includes all the dlc.

I'm getting crazy amounts of stuttering in 2033... and I haven't even played anything yet. Just the menus and loading screens are giving me trouble. I'm pretty sure it's not my PC either, because I played LL the other day fine, and I played some things earlier today with no issues.
No stuttering in gameplay. Something in my case, I suspect either the CPU or GPU, always buzzes or hums when I play certain games, including LL. Sure enough, 2033 redux does it too. I think it might just happen when I run taxing games.

Just bit the bullet, more out of sheer boredom than anything else. Hoping these aren't really scary, as I suck at playing games with horror element.

Also LOL @ the anti-tutorial in Ranger mode. Took me like 5 minutes to realize you have to HOLD square to pick up the submachinegun. Metro pls. I want to be immersed but help me out a bit.

The U.S. PS Store hasnt been updated yet. It usually updates around 5PM EST I think.
...fishy? Not all PS4 games have pre-order/pre-load, and when they don't it is put up on the store after Sony takes their sweet ass time updating it.

That's why I'm not doing Ranger mode first. Will do a full survival Ranger run later on.
