Metroid Prime 2: Echoes -- Teaser Commercial

I saw it on G4 today and thought it kinda sucked. I'm all for teaser trailers, but they need to show you SOMETHING to intrigue you. Some ing rushing the screen at the end or something.
 
I like it. I like that it doesn't tell you anything. Should get a "what the hell was that?" reaction because its over so quickly and its so vague. Which is a good thing. But others will obviously ignore it.

There needs to be a more in depth ad later. Or one that has some real bombastic footage at any rate.

Well they are obviously refering to the dark and light worlds. Light Samus and then Dark Samus. Simple :p Its a quick flash by type of ad.

I'd take Metroid Prime 2 over either of those games, but that's just me...

Nintendo should just thank their lucky stars that they aren't releasing Final Fantasy I & II Dawn of Souls until the 27!

I am at my fucking university, and they have appearently restricted the use of wmv files. I cannot install programs or codecs either.

i wonder if Echoes gets 0wn3d if companies will start shuffling release dates like movie studios.. moving back more niche titles from the blockbusters (not saying MP2 is necessarily more niche..)
 
I'd like an in game cutscene commercial.
Something like the E3 2k3 Echoes Trailer. Seeing samus flying high in all of her glory.

Nintendo needs to skip the 'Teaser' stage and begin hitting the advertising HARD or they'll end up with an underperforming gem.

Well its not exactly one of Nintendo's biggest franchises. Should do well like the last game but nothing special. I'd like to see it do as well as possible however.

The first title sold over a million copies in the US, that isn't close to niche.

Well Nintendo obviously want this game to get into many homes hence those moves. I am sure they are looking closely at how MP2 will perform. Metroid isnt exactly that big but neither is it that small of course. We havent seen that much of the game so far and the demo was random areas unlike MP1

Not that many. The game has still sold about a million one its own. Even if it didn't, there's still 1,181,831 copies of the game out there.

But those don't count in the NPD right? That means there are more than 1,180,000+ copies out there.

Because advertising a game when its just coming out is less effective than advertising it before release. Nintendo is actually doing something smart for a change!
 
Only Star Wars can get away with teasers of this nature and this isn't Star Wars.

You need to wow the audiance while making them curious, not just confuse them.
 
I bet the joke is that's actually not a teaser commercial, but the only commercial and it will be aired for 1 week.
