So i've played the game for about 5 hours straight now and i can give some insights.(mild spoilers)
The part where you accompany the annoying guy is pretty short. Yes his dialogue is cringe but it's over quickly. Beyond that you need to return briefly to him for certain upgrades.

The whole area is packed to the brim with mini-bosses and bossfights. At point you have
The bike stuff is pretty much focused on the desert area mostly, which serves as a "Hyrule Field" kinda hub-world.
The game looks good and plays good.
Bossfights are fun and revolve around techniques and finding the right approach to weaknesses.
I am eager to play more tomorrow.
