It's really no surprise that the game is doing poorly everywhere with all the toxic waste people dumped on it since its reveal.
And I just realized that the OT for the unofficial fan remake of Metroid 2 has 38 pages here on GAF while the OT for the official "Metroid" game (this one) is barely at 10.That's insulting to everyone. It's a game made for an audience that doesn't exist. The game tanking is Nintendos fault and not the people who voiced that the entire thing was poor from start to finish.
Some of us are enjoying the game at this very moment. Take your silly remarks out of the OT, will ya?That's insulting to everyone. It's a game made for an audience that doesn't exist. I'd like to like Nintendos output, but doing so unconditionally benefits nobody.
Any ideas for not-so-obvious breakables on m05 are welcome : /
Is there a complete list of the skins both for the campaign and Blastball?

That says a lot.
Keep on rationalizing. It's really no surprise that the game is doing poorly everywhere with all the toxic waste people dumped on it since its reveal.
Got the insignia but columns are news to me. Thanks.Did you get the columns with the first cannon, and the insignia above the door with the last cannon?
You should be 44 when you finish the first big room, 51 once you finish the room with the Griptoraxes.
@ElectricBlanketFire: why are you in this thread? Can't you take that trash to the bazillion threads where people bash the game without playing it, like you do?
I'm saying your "They crafted it during DSi period" is a fanboy fairy tale. The only Tanabe's thought relative to this game ten years ago was the idea of a spin-off title about Federation soldiers, certainly not a co-op gameplay. I still think Next Level guys did a solid work on the game, but they were pulled down by the idiotic Tanabe/Nintendo's concept. So you're saying that about a week or so after Splatoon came out and they revealed this game at E3 they quickly threw together a co-op game because Splatoon seemed to have caught on?

Can't have people enjoy something, when you're on a righteous crusade to prove people you were right all along.
This game has online play right? I've ordered it but I didn't think to look.
Fuck this game. Just deleted it. Missions range from ok at best to fucking terrible and I've got too many good games in the backlog to waste time on games I'm not loving.
Glad some of you are enjoying it. I need to delete my credit card from my consoles do I stop drunk impulse buying games I don't really want.
This OT obviously allows different opinions, several people in this thread have played the game, didn't like it, and shared their experience explaining why they didn't like it, and none of them got any negative remark. You, on the other hand, made absolutely no comment on the game itself whatsoever. No other OT doesn't allow different opinions and this one should be no different.
It definitely has had a role in it.I was responding to an erroneous post by the OP that the reason this game bombed was due to the "toxic waste dumped on it by fans" which clearly isn't true.

What's you guys' favorite mission?
Mine's Mission 17 "Infestation".Really cool way of including Metroids, and having them be immune to weapons fire when not frozen is a nice step up from how weak they are in Prime. I enjoy how you first start seeing Metroids frozen in tubes before you see them unfrozen; it's a way of teaching the player through environmental elements.
Let's not act like that is a fact lol.

You can't think of any other reasons why the game sold historically poorly?
I just finished the first stage, and every mission has been a delight, perfectly worthy of the Prime moniker. The only mission that I was indifferent about was the Infiltration one - stealth 'zero-suit' is just not my thing, never was, even in Zero Mission. What's you guys' favorite mission?

The final 3 minutes of the mission are the best part about it, with the intense melee. Apropos, how does one get the first mod, right by the drop zone?M6 is pretty good, especially for its intro in the rain, but that one instant death section is kinda BS.

Can you aim with the stylus like in metroid hunters?
Oh come on! /feels stupidJump up from the little ledge.
I don't hate this so far? I mean its not some fantastic metroid game or anything, but its fun ish.
I think you're making the crucial mistake and assume that I'm saying the game would've sold gangbusters had it not been for a few gaf threads and yt downvotes.
I'm saying the toxically hyperbolic negativity that spread like a wildfire and instantly branded the game as "complete shit" is what irredeemably doomed it. The usual lack of marketing efforts, limited appeal of this type of game in general on the platform (regardless of attached IP), and "just okay/good" critical reception would've produced the normal underwhelming reception.
Can we now go back to talking about the game?
Just wanted to say that this weekend I finally had time for some multi, and the game absolutely shines when a team of experienced players is formed. Until now I used to look at the game as a very atmospheric single-player, but clearly FF is a very cooperative game, even more so than TFH, since most of the optimal solutions are not so obvious as in TFH. So much thought went into this, kudos to Next Level!
I've just finished this and the last few missions clinched it for me: I think this is my game of the year so far.
Anyone got any tips on how to do M04: Containment solo without Lone Wolf? I've tried it quite a few times and broke all my favorite mods.
