I'd rather have this then not have it in our version at all.
Fusion's Hard Mode wasn't even in the NA/PAL versions, for example.
Fusion has a hard mode?! Got the japanese version on my japanese ambassador 3DS, need to look this up...

Thank you for the clarification, I appreciate it.I read it through in japanese... I couldn't find all the detailed info but it did say "you can also use amiibo to unluck stuff like concept art after you have beaten the game". This might be the worst amiibo use yet unfortunately. :/

I seriously regret buying the only Amiibo that I own (the original Samus Amiibo), I refuse to use it as I don't want to support Nintendo with this practice.
How do you know this?
OK great. I plan on multiple playthroughs anyway.
Why the Fusion suit
Why not the Phazon suit
Thought "unlocked after beating the game" was similar to how SFZ used amiibo to unlock things early. Guess it's not confirmed yet.
Seems to be unlockable after beating the game. I see no problems with this.
I can't see it being unlocked by just beating the game... Then why list that as an amiibo feature? It's possible it can be unlocked by clearing some special condition tho, like "beat game in less than xx hours". Impossible to know until either clarification or game release.
A sexy black Varia suitThe Fusion suit is actually a different model, for starters. Phazon suit was just a black varia suit.

yes sure, without amiibo this wouldnt exist, whatever you tell pal

Star Fox Zero did the same thing.
They revealed a few things that were unlocked via amiibo and LATER said they could be unlocked just by playing the game.
In resumé, Nintendo sucks at being clear when it comes to this stuff.
Still selling difficulty modes? This is not a trend I'm liking.
This is where i get mad.
When i heard people say but you can beat the game then unlock it ? Yeah i like to finish my game twice (sarcasm mode on)
Seems my post from the other thread is in order then.Pathetic if true. But even if it isn't, it speaks volumes that this sounds so realistic coming from Nintendo :lol Count them out if you want modern online/hardware features, but count them in to be top-tier in ripoff tactics and premium prices.
Locking content behind amiibo would break the convention Nintendo's established with games like Kirby Planet Robobot and Star Fox Zero where you could unlock the amiibo content after completing the game.
I'll believe it when I see it in regards to locked content. Wouldn't be the first time NeoGaf has gone full 'jump-to-conclusions' only to be wrong.
Seems my post from the other thread is in order then.
Well that's poorly worded in that case. And I hope not, if they end up putting harder difficulties behind a pay will through amiibo, I'll be making tags myself from here on out...The description is pretty explicit in that you need the amiibo to unlock these features after beating the game:

shouldn't this user know your Nintendo-related background tooYou're a Junior so I assume you don't know this yet: don't bother talking to Spieler Eins. He's grown into "I hate everything Nintendo does now, they betrayed me"-poster number one since a few years ago at least.
You HAVE to be able to unlock all those extra stuff by beating the game without the amiibo...
C'mon, Nintendo... don't be like this.
Are you now trying to complain about it being unlocked behind beating the game (like in pretty much all previous Metroids) too?!
That seems to be an honest comparison lolTalking about "GAF" being wrong... "Don't be silly, they wouldn't lock a hard mode for Zelda behind DLC, clearly that hard mode in the DLC description is something completely different!"
This is not my perception right now, if you want to make unlockable content because you think people will not enjoy your hard mode before doing a normal run, this is the creator vision (i don't fully understand that, but this is another subject). But give that option to bypass with a 15.99 CAN$ amiibo, this is where i think this is ridiculous and stupid. I like to play my game on hardest difficulty right from the start, and Nintendo hit the mark with this for me, i'm probably not alone.

Which it is? Like I said, I know you make shitty drive-by posts. But doesn't mean you're not wrong. Just like GAF was with the Hard mode on Zelda.Talking about "GAF" being wrong... "Don't be silly, they wouldn't lock a hard mode for Zelda behind DLC, clearly that hard mode in the DLC description is something completely different!"
Sadly, only the Metroid (as in, the squishy thing) amiibo unlocks the FUSION mode.
So the part that bothers you is that (potentially) you can bypass the clear-game requirement by using the amiibo instead of being forced to beat like in the older games and your desire to play the absolutely hardest thing right away in turn forces you to buy the amiibo so you don't have to touch a regular playthrough first?
Funny how we resort to these tactics huh? Speaks volumes about this forum.shouldn't this user know your Nintendo-related background too
