Kill the head of a drug cartel responsible for thousands of deaths.

GAF* response: Bitch and moan that it's not enough.

Lmao.

Killing OBL also didn't end anything, but it sure was a big deal and the fucker had it coming. This is in the same ballpark.

*certain people

Yup. Dude was a piece of shit that got what was coming to him.

Good job, Mexican Marines.

Cheers, I'll be sure to check that out.

[..]But it added that more forensics tests the body would have to be carried out to confirm the identification.
I had to do a double take, I read that as foreskin...time for new glasses.

Got to get Z40 now...

I don't think this means shit as long as we have these stupid drug laws in place that keeps promoting underground drug smuggling activities for crazy profits. The whole system is fucked in the first place.

It just seems like killing the leaders is meaningless because there's always a new cartel leader. Hopefully this time the Mexican government can use the down time to restore order.

Well the point of killing him wasn't really to stop or even hurt the cartel, they just did it so another leader that pays em more money can take over.

I'm sure his underlings are good enough to replace him. Keep fighting the good fight.

why do you assume that?
this guy was ex-spec-ops. the next leader might not be as talented, make more mistakes, sink teh organization.

I agree with the sentiment of many in this thread. This is a meaningless victory; we may as well legalize all drugs and reach out to the good people of the various cartels in an offer of peace and commerce.

it isn't meaningless to kill the head of a violent drug gang responsible for hundreds of deaths. cynicism doesn't help either.

What would happen to all these scum if all countries legalized these substances, meaning that private companies can setup production and distribution of them.
Which also means that the price of them would normalize, once supply and demand reach and equilibrium.
I guess they could move to human trafficking and who knows what else, but it would for sure make their lives more difficult.

and youthink Pfizer or Johnson & Johnson or whoever is going to move into cocaine production tomorrow with all the stigma associated with it? do you think there are companies out there that are chomping at the bit to cater to the drug user market?

I think the best way to stop the cycle of drug violence is to stop giving these guys sweet ass nicknames like "El Verdugo."

It's a Mexican thing. I have a shitton of relatives that I only know by thier nicknames.

And this is pretty crazy. Wow. But the whole body stealing doesn't surprise me. They've done that tons of times.

While it may not be a crippling blow to the Zetas it's certainly something. Yes, they probably have someone geared up to take command but Lazcano was a leader for a reason. They may be in slight disarray for awhile.

That's what happens when you mess with anonymous.
