I honestly hope this is the case and she can go in buck ass naked so people will quit whining at every chance that presents itself. It's sad that we've seen an earbud getting pulled out of a dude's neck yet people spend all of their time discussing the game griping about an outfit from an optional character.

What if that dude is Quiet? He seemed to be growing boobs.

Pretty interested in what those outfits will be, though.

If I recall, Kojima said the entire theme behind her character was "Naked sniper" so I doubt you can put any actual clothes on her. I'm guessing it's for camo-pattern bikinis.

See... i was playing Ryse the other day, and i was blown away at how good and detailed the game looks. But with Kojima, not only does the graphical fidelity look upgraded... he combines that with gameplay. See... i was playing Ryse the other day, and i was blown away at how good and detailed the game looks. I hope he does a horror game based on PT, it obviously won't be PT because, well, Konami owns the IP but I'd have loved to have seen the game brought to life as a full title.

That's true, However graphics wise the MGS series isn't known for pushing the boundaries on that end but rather on the gameplay.

id say this one being the only game to not set the bar. but mgs 1 and 2 3 and 4 were the best graphics on their consoles on release.... all you youngins... mgs 2 blew my fucking mind in 2001.
this game looks wonderful and amazing, but they are better looking games... but its still no slouch.

Fucking this. Those games were really cutting edge at the time of their release. This is the first big console MGS that is behind the curve.

I think the best course of action would be for Sony to hire him, give him his own studio and dump a truck load of cash In the car park for him and his team to go wild.

Oh I'm also guessing he would bring over most of the KojiPro team with him to a new studio as they were contracted wasn't they?
Would it not be a little absurd for him not to be able to do a horror game in his contract?
His contract expires in December anyway :)

I'm glad rations are gone. The previous games were far too easy because of it. Including MGS3 with it's life med.

Also, in MGS5 after you take so much damage you have to find a safe spot and hold triangle for snake to heal his wounds. The health spray in GZ left you really open.

mind blown there was heal spray lol ima go play GZs when i get home...
I agree rations on the easy diffs was ridiculous.. but man it was brutal on extreme.
the hardest thing ever on a mgs game for me was mgs2 on extreme the second vamp fight... on extreme you only get 1 ration 1 ..... and they only drop from held up enemies ..and not every time...
I had one third of my max health so if i got hit once it was over... took me like 200 trys lol...the 25 metal gears and solidus after that was cake...was sooo happy to be done with it..never again.

Yeah, I had seen those... Can't really speculate based on early concept sketches, and I always assumed that trailer shot is from when you first meet Quiet, when something hasn't happened yet to motivate her to dress like she does. You'd think they would've shown different outfits for Quiet if that was going to be a significant thing, we've even seen different outfits for D-horse and DD.

But anyway, it's just a prediction, we'll see who's right in September. I think she looks cool either way.

we can't forget that it's an open world game running at 1080p 60fps...

I agree with that, but MGSV is the first that is cross gen (sadly) and also the first to be open world, the map so far has been ridiculously huge compared to previous games and the level of detail and depth in the gameplay really outshines almost every other game out this generation.

Every Metal Gear game has been the best looking game of it's time.

The E3 2000 MGS2 trailer was so graphically amazing that nobody believed it was real gameplay footage. It was the same thing with MGS3 and MGS4 and even MGSV:GZ and MGSV:TPP. If you have to question if the graphics are real-time, then they are impressive - just like FFXV.

Kojima pushes the envelope in all aspects of his games. I hope he continues to do so with whatever he does next.

I know a lot of people working at LA studio already moved somewhere else. Some really good talent. So i would not be surprised if some people leave with Kojima. Shinkawa for sure?

I just noticed they brought back the animation of Snake shielding his face from debris when the helicopter lands, excellent touch!

He does that when the sandstorm arrives, you can see it in the E3 2015 demo during the side ops mission.

Hey you're right! It would be cool if he would pull up a scarf or something for protection although that might not be possible due to graphical budget.

Sorry to re-quote this but this is blasphemy, MGS2 is still known as one of the biggest visual jumps ever, and it's looking good till this day, games obviously has evolved since visually, but nothing was as a big of a jump as MGS2 back than till this day imo.

Graphics today are amazing don't get me wrong, but everything since MGS2 seems like an evolution rather than a revolution graphics wise, you can still see the basics of MGS2 in there.
It's just that the PS2 era by itself was the biggest jump as well so this is not too surprising that the first real "next gen" game of that time will do the biggest splash up until this day.

Sorry for the little off-topic, just needed to emphasis this :p

It would be a feature I'd welcome. I know I won't have to worry about it when I pick up the PC version eventually but I'll be spending most of my time with the game on PS4.

In the sniper mission, Boss goes from one end to another on the base for a better vantage point, and travels more than 400M, well beyond the distance in Camp Omega for just one teeny tiny base. So much room~

Well 1080p 60 FPS does make MGS V stand out.

Like we can argue all we want, not a single AAA game was 60 FPS recently, so kudos to them.

And PC version will destroy console versions, so you can always look at that.
 
maybe thats because its the same mission over and over again?

But it's still going to happen in every mission since enemy/resource markings won't be saved after you exfil out, so you're still going to hear it each time you return to an area.

About the graphics:

They're targeting 1080p/60fps on consoles and the game still has a great, clean design. Puts it miles ahead of other games on the market in my opinion.

There have been quite a few small things in the game that I can't help but wonder why nobody found annoying in all the time they've been playtesting it.

  • Snake saying Hya over and over
  • Quiet constantly humming
  • Kaz still consistently talks over the other voices from the battlefield. We better be able to press the radio button again to shut him up.
  • Analysis complete gets really irritating. The stats pop up visually after itss complete. There's no need for this overly long audio indication.
  • Actually I just don't like any of the indicator audio that Donna Burke does. Sun will rise shorty, sun will set momentarily. They're annoying.
  • The spam of text notifications that constantly pop up on screen for even 1 or 2 actions
