Michael Bay And Sydney Sweeney Team On Movie Adaptation Of ‘OutRun’ Video Game At Universal

I would have preferred an Afterburner movie with Sweeney instead.

Wouldn't that movie basically be a dumbed down version of Top Gun? Ace Combat would make a better movie franchise, to be honest.
Testarossa was always my fave "supercar" of the 80s. There was a Ferrari dealership in Tucker, GA, which was just a few towns over. We would go by and drool in high school.

The car from the original System16 arcade version of OutRun was based on a 1984-1986 Ferrari Testarossa Spider. Ferrari never actually made a convertible variant of this car.

There was some company in California back in the early 1980's that would do conversion kits for Testarossa's that removed the roof and added a folding canvas top. Those variants were nicknamed the 'Starman' .

There were only twelve of them made by said company. TopGear's website featured a Starman that they called 'The OutRun Ferrari'. This was a European version done by a different customisation group...

It would be something if Bay could get his hands on one for the movie. Even if it was on-loan.

I want some nod to a convertible cartwheeling while she runs along side it before jumping back in. That is the first thing I think of when I hear "outrun".

I'd take a Streets of Rage adaption, with her as Blaze.

Okay you win.

Yeah, I was thinking something throwaway like Stealth with Jamie Foxx and Jessica Biel. Actually just make Stealth 2. Sweeney's the new hotshot pilot, and Biel's back as the grizzled instructor who somehow only wears a bikini the entire film. Instant cult classic.

All this "Sydney Sweeny in a jet fighter movie" makes me hope they just strap her into the g-force simulator with a skimpy top and rocket her back and forth like one if those sling chair carnival rides.....we've all seen the videos :p

2 hours of just her in the chair....back and forth, back and forth.

I'd pay to watch that :p

Sydney Sweeney + fast cars is a huuge pair up. I see a couple of reasons where this might work out quite well!

Sydney has no idea how much baby oil is about to be painted on her by Michael Bay. Bay had Megan Fox in the Transformers movies so greased up, she could have personally beaten the mother penguin in the race on Mario 64.

The Ferrari place we visited had a modded Testa with twin turbochargers. The rear fenders stuck out even more, with larger fin intakes. You could see "radiators" (coolers) inside the fins/wheel well. It was white/cream, obviously a hardtop, and was just one of the widest cars I had ever seen. This was 87 or 88 (probably 87). But yeah, it was not stock.

Now just tell us the stars of the movie.
Which Ferrari replicas make the cut, and how long before Ferrari say nah mane, we'll send you a real one for hero shots.
