I missed the part where Vanity Fair had a statement from an actual Sheriff legitimizing the leaks. Yikes. Fuck him then. Even then, he does say some documents and he obviously can't specify which.

No way did anyone "know" for sure. There was never any hard evidence, and I still feel that way. We will wait and see throughout the day, and I will attempt to stay on top of this and update the OP as necessary.

The decade before his death, almost every mention I heard of Michael Jackson was in the form of jokes or comments about him being a pedophile. Then he died and a lot of people decided to sweep that under the rug out of respect for the dead or something.

That would explain why he was never charged for having illegal child pornography, because he technically did not have any. The prosecutor used the books and pictures as proof of a grooming scheme for his alleged victims, but it never panned out.

It's confusing to me because the sheriff says some of them are legit, but also some of them are from "unknown sources" and they didn't release any to the media... Which I guess would mean that if they are real, Radar obtained them through some back-alley avenue or unofficial means? Or it could not be real at all? I don't know. It all seems too hazy to me...

Reading the actual report (I'm not far in as it is having trouble loading on my phone) I only see mention of items at at the time the investigators deemed legal to possess.
Although I think it is creepy due to the content, not everything that has nudity is considered pornography/cp.

It's quite shocking how easily people here seem to believe it without seeing any proof and also these aren't the most trustworthy of sites.
I am still convinced the dude didn't do a damn thing. Yes plenty of terrible shit was said about, yet there was never any hard evidence. In fact, uder cross examination all these accusers were proven to be liars. the main accusing family was proven to be lying their ass off, constantly making up new false claims.
Until proven otherwise Mike is still the dude that got trashed by the tabloids, but was a person full of love and life and could not hurt a fly. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if this were true. There's been such an active campaign against detractors of Michael Jackson for the last 15 years, but seemingly every sane person knew there was something very odd with his relationship with children. If you implied there was something illegal about it, you'd get shouted down about it.

A lot of this came up when he was alive, but the charges were dropped for a variety of reasons. In the end the only stuff that law enforcement pinned on him was giving alcohol to minors, and nothing else stuck. But there was always smoke there.

So, are we thinking that the imagery of children's heads on naked bodies is part of the stuff that didn't come from the Sherriff's Office? Reading both those reports, that specific detail isn't mentioned. Just the naked young boys books, and the denial of the computer evidence.
For one thing it helps his victims. They've had many years of being disbelieved by huge numbers of people, accused of making things up, accused of just doing this for money. It's much harder to say they're making things up when you have this information.
