Microsoft has Closed the Activision Blizzard King Deal

Am I reading into it way too much that I saw Alex Mercer from Prototype in that trailer? I would be absolutely giddy if they revived that series.

Why don’t you change it back to what you posted before?

I read what Your post said before.

You a phoney and a coward. We done replying to each other. Wassup with these fake faux intellectual gamers? Don’t take long before they devolve into what they really are, a frothing rabid fanboy calling names from behind a keyboard. Yob are a lame 🤷🏾‍♂️

Why change your post. I didn’t even bother to read what you changed it too. You already shown yourself to be a bit of a loose cannon. Say hi to my ignore button though.

Edit: wrong guy. Blocking the appropriate offender now.
I didn't change or edit anything bloke.

If everything is just being chucked onto Gamepass and nothing matters except subscribers, than my fear remains that they will just shovel shit onto the service with hardly a care for quality. At least CoD needs to somewhat justify a $70 price tag right now. When they care about content on the service way more than quality content on the service you get Redfall and Halo MCC.

Will be very interested in the quality of the first big game from these new IPs to launch day 1 on Gamepass.

Have you played the current COD beta?

Its recycled maps with some movement improvements from last years game and will still sell a billion dollars worth

Oh, cool. The fun police called for backup! Anyone else’s lives you want to judge while you’re here? Let’s really go out of our way to make people feel like shit about themselves today.

Or, you know… you can also keep it gaming and leave them be. 🤷🏻‍♂️

You need someone else to make you feel bad for a deal expresly done stifle competition?

Time will tell. I perfectly understand what you're saying, and sure the 1st Party Studios is now something remarkable.
There is a lot of talent, but surely there will be a lot of work to be done to "rejuvenate" certain dynamics, to put it mildly.
The console that will benefit most from this acquisition will be the next XBox ;)
I hope you're right but a lot of that would require great talent management and this seems to be one of their biggest weaknesses this past decade. Looking at 343i for example, someone higher-up leaves every other month. Other studios have complained about too many part-time workers and a lot of shifting in employees overall. Talent and creativity come in many forms but in most cases it needs a lot of care and attention to fully come to fruition. This is what I meant by ''soulless'' in my previous post. You can't just throw people with a degree in game design at a project and hope things work out.

Rare’s Sea of Thieves is one of the most commercially successful titles of all time, and has sold around 6 million units on Steam alone.
The game still has a significant amount of players on Xbox and PC

Arkane stumbled with Redfall, but prior to that was Deathloop with multiple GOTY awards.

Beyond daft for anyone to include The Coalition there. There’s nothing to suggest they’re having any issues.

This was clearly put together by ignorant platform warriors.

God forbid someone with a 20-year passion for Xbox gaming found some happiness today. I’m just glad we have an officer from the fun police on duty to stop them. Whew.
God forbid someone actually read the post I was replying to instead of going off on a tangent that doesn't even address what I was saying. No issue with being happy, but saying it's one of the best days of your life is extremely sad considering the context. Corporate cheerleading and this almost cult like infatuation with them is not healthy and shouldn't be celebrated.

Nah. Sarcasm isn’t going to bail you out. Growing up, however? That shit works wonders. ✌🏼

Whoever’s happy about the deal for personal or gaming reasons, be happy about the deal. Ignore these clowns.
Imagine being happy about a corporate merger you have no financial stake in. Seriously - shit's nuts.

Guess the Message is that once Microsoft got those studios they behaved worse than when they were independent...

Plus is funny.

Quality over quantity clearly isn't a tenant over at MS.

…events which happened well before this current management team took over.

But yes, they screwed up in the 360 generation by not building up their in house teams.
With the launch of the Xbox in 2001, Spencer joined the Xbox team and served as general manager of Microsoft Game Studios EMEA, working with Microsoft's European developers and studios such as Lionhead Studios and Rareuntil 2008, when he became the general manager of Microsoft Studios, eventually becoming the studio's corporate vice president a year later.[6][8] He has participated in Microsoft's E3 conferences since 2010.[9][10][11][12]

No Silksong? = Delivering the pain.
Not good for gamers.

And I just have to laugh every time Microsoft posts a “first party” pic of titles they publish. Mates, you ain’t part of any of them. It’s why I can’t take anyone seriously who calls Bethesda or any of these Microsoft “first party”.

Yeah you’re technically right but we all know Microsoft has nothing to do with any of it.

Consolidation of publishers is bad for the industry. Once again, regulators fail at their only job.

Kept waiting to read the part where he was made head of Xbox before 2010 and hence responsible for decisions to close studios.

Cropped that part out?

Meh, hyperbole and all. Not every single game sucks. But most everything on your list has already been out for awhile or was made by a completely different company and MS paid for a little bit of Gamepass time and will be gone at some point. Just not very impressive to me.

Why does any consumer care if items in a subscription service were made by third parties? What’s the relevance? 😂

goalposts are certainly being moved with increasing alacrity today.
