Seems pretty obvious to me. You were talking about how MS "bought their way to this point". HeisenbergFX4 HeisenbergFX4 is referring to past discussions regarding Microsoft's shitton of money. Maybe a little big of a tangent, but nothing to get worked up about.
It really was a tangent and me just typing out loud that some people warned MS might do this very thing literally years ago

I mean whatever I have been exposed now

I have openly said on numerous times that I prefer the Xbox/PC ecosystem and even their hardware and really only use my PS5 for exclusives

I guess those are my true colors and makes me an Xbot, I can't keep up which side I am supposedly on
No such thing as an Xbot or Green Rat. People are allowed to like something that someone else may not. Some people seem to have a difficult time grasping this concept in many aspects of life unfortunately.

I know that Xbox being the Sega fan refuge died a long time ago, but this is the absolute closure of whatever was left of that long arc.

wonder how long before MS "helps" Embracer group with "relieving" them of Crystal Dynamics/Eidos

I do think this is one of the few things MS should still invest in purchase-wise, but I think it would be just as cool for Sony to buy them and make some sort of off shoot Laura meets Nathan adventure.

You've made multiple posts saying how much you loved Starfield and how you put 70 hours in it, and how it's one of your favorite games this year.

Then now you turn about to say you're still waiting for 'one good game'.

Amnesia?

I should have specified from ABK - not from all of what Microsoft has under their whole pipeline.

Diablo 4 has the potential to be good with a season or two more, but that could be copium/hopium.

Blizzard's best game in the last decade has been Diablo2R and at the time of developement to release that team wasn't even internal, then were hired on AFTER it being good. Warcraft has been rough for me, WC3 yikes, OW2 double yikes, Starcraft is left to die, Hearthstone is hearthstone, etc. On the CoD side I get them every year due to buddies buying them every year, and this year is no different. King games I don't play.

Really I want Blizzard to have something REALLY good to hit, or to start supporting D2R more from community requests.

Yes, I enjoyed starfield quite a lot. Most didn't. The further I got away from it though my original enjoyment and praise isn't as high. Scratched my Bethesda itch though, and I'd still recommend it especially on gamepass.

Forza has issues this year, I wasn't big on Hi Fi Rush like others here, but man with this many things under the belt I'd love to see a celebrated game that is resounding win for them... it just feels like it's always "wait another year, next year will be the year."

As an Xbox gamer since 2002, this is one of the best days of my life. Despite all the doubt here, I knew they would get it done. Bravo Phil.
Fair play to you pal. Ignore the petty teasing.

The world is turning to shite faster and faster each day.

More and more households are having to rely on food banks.....in the 21st century.

Yet clearly none of those things approach anywhere near the importance of having a gripe because some video games now have a new Daddy.

They should have thrown us a GamePass bone today...

Even Crash or something
Nah….. Tony hawks

Quality over quantity clearly isn't a tenant over at MS

They may not all be10/10 game of the year stuff but most of these are hardly what one would call bad.

Also…. Most of those games are made by 3rd party so what does their quality have to do with Xbox decision making?

I love it when people with common sense post. 👊🏿

Furthermore I for people in less fortunate financial situations in life gamepass is a good thing. For every person that mocks gamepass there is probably a struggling single parent who is glad for it.

As much as it sucks, Blizzard fell off a decade ago anyway. At least they got D2R out before MS came in to put the final nail in the coffin.

Xbox probably makes around 10% of Activision revenue. Mobile and PC are big hitters. Revenue isn't going to 'plummet', and it's possible the drop is partially covered by a full featured port on Switch 2, as well as MTX revenue.

We'll see.
You're thinking of profit.

COD brings in Billions in revenue from actual game sales (physical and digital). Once you take away a portion of those sales and dump them on a monthly subscription fee you are inevitably going to lose a chunk of $$$ from those sales.

If Anything Activision might end up depending on CODs Sony sales to actually keep the production profitable...but like you said, we'll see.

No tears, just disappointment...if Microsoft knew how to manage their studios and make them prosper then I wouldn't care, but look at every studio they have, all the game are garbage for the most part...Starfield was supposed to be this big stupendous game and already at this point I think most people are already like '...Meh'

It is one thing to take studios and grown them into something bigger and better, but Microsoft is just trying to buy their way to success which to me is just lazy
You actually believe what you're saying here? Your REAL issue is that you believe Microsoft doesnt know how to manage studios. But....if they did (according to you....) you'd be all grassy knolls and lollipops about this deal? With comments like, " all the games are garbage..?"

Cmon bro....

One change I hope Microsoft forces into Activision is to stop just putting a fucking download file trigger on the disc for retail copies and calling it a day.

Bought MW2 on prime day and wasn’t very happy to pop it in and see it install like 300MB and then pop a 130GB download.

Don't worry I promise you MS won't because you are not getting a retail disk in the first place. just wait.

Also, the COD HQ app thing sucks. I boot it up and have to scroll down and over like 8 times each just to play the MW2 campaign. Why can’t I just boot directly into the game I want lol. Get rid of that shit app while you’re at it, Microsoft.

Put WoW on Gamepass.

Never gonna happen though.
I think it becomes an add-on for just a few bucks more than Gamepass Ultimate. Get you paying $20 for WOW+Gamepass Ultimate instead of $ 15 every month and you get access to all Gamepass games. Why would they do this? More revenue per user and WOW subscribers are insanely sticky, they almost never cancel their subscription. Even better if they bring WOW to console, open up a whole new group of potential subscribers.

I still don't understand how this could happen. Maybe someone with serious knowledge can explain:

Sony's market cap is $100 bn. Sony only generates 30% of revenue with its gaming division.

Activision Blizzard market cap is $75 bn. Activision Blizzard generates 100% of its revenue with gaming.

How the fuck can officials allow Microsoft, a software monopolist with a market cap of $2500bn, to buy Activision Blizzard?

I know we all have our preferences of which brand we prefer and which we dislike. But this deal is a serious problem for the entire gaming industry including every single die-hard Xbox fanboy in the darkest corner of the internet.

Why are we still arguing about this? The deal's done now, what else is there to argue about? ABK, is Microsoft's responsibility now, not the gamer's. Whether it's managed properly or improperly? Well, that's Microsoft's burden to carry, since they made the choice to go through with it. Will it be successful in the long term or not, time will tell. Either the situation at ABK improves with Microsoft at the helm, or, it sinks like the Titanic. Whatever the case may be, it's up to them now. It won't magically knock Sony from the revenue spot they were claiming prior to that. It'll be as it was, only with one massive third party publisher now acting as a first party one. And it most probably won't take away from people's enjoyment of games.

At least if that happens, everyone can call it ‘organic’ since they’ve been working with MS on several games.

No. I’m thinking of revenue. Charts of Activision revenue splits show console contributing not much more than a third of the total revenue. And that includes revenue from Warzone that isn’t a paid title.

Ask him what does he think about PS Plus. I bet he is one of those insane people that think that Plus is better that GamePass
But it is in some people’s opinion? And probably it is. It’s a different service with a different offering. You can enjoy both. Personally I like my ps plus premium over my Gamepass ultimate too, but both services have their own strengths and weaknesses.

Or you could take some time and read the justification multiple regulators put forward when approving the deals?

Regulators think The deal poses zero problems for the entire gaming industry after implementing all the remedies, including guaranteed access to Call of Duty and extensive concessions with respect to cloud streaming Activision games. Thats why it passed.

Your claims of MS being ‘software monopolists’ in console gaming are a complete fabrication anyway.
