No, Xbox copied the Dreamcast controller, also seems no one remembers that the Xbox controller has haptic feedback on their triggers before Sony did, ( can't blame anyone almost no games makes use of them) something Sony copied and improved greatly upon.

DualShock 3 is where Sony dropped the ball. PS3 losing the ports for plugging in wired DS2s was a mistake.
Xbox created the first vibration feedback system for triggers. They’re also the first to come up with pro controllers (PlayStations pro controller feels cheap when held right after holding a Xbox elite controlller). They have the superior stick layout. PlayStation triggers feel mushy while Xbox’s feel smoother. Bumpers are clickier on Xbox too. There is a reason why most pc gamers use Xbox controllers.
