They have no say in a game that will be developed by people who are paid by them for the next 3-5 years? lolthey have no say in that lol

I know, you know I know, we all know. They are the same exact people who are gloating now.
That to me says things like Elder scrolls on line where it already has a community and legacy on the platform so they will continue to support the game with things like expansions etc.''We have games that exist on other platforms, and we're going to go support those games on the platforms they're on. There's communities of players. We love those communities and we'll continue to invest in them. And even in the future, there might be things that have either contractual things or legacy on different platforms that we'll go do.''
You're nuts if you think they'll let Indiana Jones go to Sony or Nintendo.
I’m going to ask this again. What would the agreement say? As far as I am aware multiplat titles without exclusivity do not have ‘agreements’ - because there is nothing to be agreed uponSo I guess we need to wait for E3 for the Xbox victory lap to see exactly which titles are exclusive and which have "existing agreements"? Do we know that there arent "existing agreements" for games like the next Doom?
He's not the zodiac. It's not a cipher. Sometimes words mean exactly what they mean.can this dude not talk in riddles?
how hard is to come out and say. for now on all these games (put the game name) will be exclusive to xbox.
first setence clears says games that are multiplat will still be multi. new ips probably a different story. but well see
I think even new entries in existing series will be locked out of playstation. It's even possible such games would even be released on switch. We've already seen such petty and spiteful exclusivity with the likes of Cuphead, wouldn't be surprised. So it all comes down to people's definition of 'legacy' I guess..
I would assume it means if the series existed previously on that console then the series will continue to see titles.
You’re probably correct XBox fans. Bethesda games won’t be coming to Ps5.
You must be right, because your recent track record with predictions about things has been so spot o -
...oh.
If only I read what I wrote I would write the right thing.I shouldn't do it, because I barely use punctuation on here and never proofread a post: but I couldn't not do it.
What did you write about in your classes? Did the they teach you about the differences between right and wrong?
sigh. just think a little a bit of the implication.. these deals aren't made in pubs. unless ms signed a contract with the owner of the ip stating that the game will be developed exclusively for Xbox. no they have no say in thatThey have no say in a game that will be developed by people who are paid by them for the next 3-5 years? lol
New games won’t be on PlayStation that is 100% certain.
We need to wait the case by case of game that were already done contract before MS takes the management.... that was what Uncle Phil is saying the whole week including today.
Legacy support with regards to software and hardware means continuing support for current or old iterations, it has no connection whatsoever to future releases. He basically said they would support current games with patches, fixes etc and that's it. Just because doom was once on the PlayStation does not mean it will forever get new releases. It really is that simple. So it all comes down to people's definition of 'legacy' I guess..
I would assume it means if the series existed previously on that console then the series will continue to see titles.
Sony better fucking be on the phone with capcom or square enix right fucking now. No more diddly-dicking around wasting money on timed exclusives and porting games away while Microsoft continues to bolster the xbox value proposition.
Hey FunkMiller , atleast live up to what you said.
There it is.
How long before GP on Playstation and Switch then?
I believe outside the game with a contract (?) unless it is a successful GaaS game (TES Online) it won't be released on PS.I would hazard a guess, lets say less than 5 new games going forward. I would also add sequels prob wont happen on sony platform unless its in contract with some of the new games, games like doom wont see sequels on ps though
I don’t like exclusives and long for a world where I can just buy one system, but you have to fight the battle you’re engaged in sadly. I have all systems, but this is amusing because of the Sony fanboys who have made everything about exclusives and ‘wins’. It’s always nice to see a bully get punched in the mouth. Now for the Xbox people who argued that exclusives are meaningless... WTF is Microsoft doing?
Great PR. Phil Spencer wouldn't mislead anyone lolyou can read it however you want... maybe English isn't your first language?
Here:
Actually, a statement like that would have been the clearest possible statement he could make, and would answer the question definitively. Perhaps he will clarify or expound on his comments to say just that.let's be honest here, phil could have straight up said all future bethesda games will be Xbox and PC only with the exception of deathloop/ghostwire tokyo...and there would still be people insisting he left it unclear.
What agreement would there even be in the case of a multiplatform game? I can only see a signed agreement needed for an exclusive, timed or otherwise.Let's not be silly, of course there's no existing agreements for starfield this far out. To say so is just a fantasy.
I believe unless it is a successful GaaS game (TES Online) it won't be released on PS.
Oh well! The only games i cared abouy was Doom and the Evil within, it won't make me buy a xbox

Doom 3 VR has a contract in place... so it will come to PSVR.With that already being released it likely wont get a sequel on ps but will still be serviced as it always was. That’s how i see it. Old titles could also get patches with the legacy thing to, or he could mean games like doom 3 VR as being a legacy title
If you read what I said , that’s what they could mean by legacy games. Older games that are already on ps will get support or updatesDoom 3 VR has a contract in place... so it will come to PSVR.
More 'cleat' than you. That’s as ‘cleat’ as mud.
Haha haha!
As fully expected all Bethesda games will be released on PS5.
LITERALLY nothing has changed!
What a week. I’ll be playing Demon’s Souls, the first of many PS5 exclusive masterpieces, on Thursday.
And now Bethesda games are GUARANTEED on PS5.
Beautiful.
Yeap I understood that but I believe Doom 3 VR is placed in the "contract" side and not "legacy games"."If you read what I said , that’s what they could mean by legacy games. Older games that are already on ps will get support or updates
It's Phil's middle name.He didn't clarify shit. Lots of "grey" zones on what he said. If anything he confused people even more than before (like he always does).
Youll get your Last of us 2 games as a service multiplayer nobody asked for and Abby DLC nobody ever asked for while Jim Ryan makes excuses and talks about organic growth. Sony was so cheap they let square soft, Atlus, and From Soft go for literally hundreds of millions of dollars, what makes you think sony is going to spend billions on them now? I think theyre in for a rough ride with their current leadership.Sony better fucking be on the phone with capcom or square enix right fucking now. No more diddly-dicking around wasting money on timed exclusives and porting games away while Microsoft continues to bolster the xbox value proposition.
Phil probably just doesn't want to admit that TES6 and Starfield won't be exclusive, since those games are in development a long time already and there are probably already contracts/promises made that can no longer be broken.
Cause why not !?And the minimizing begins! Well done!
If you didn't care to begin with, why even read or post on the thread?

if was old sony maybe. todays sony? what did they get to lose?Sony will never allow GamePass on their consoles, so if you only own a PS4 or PS5, don't expect to play Starfield or ES6 in the next decade or ever. Meanwhile, I think there's a 50/50 chance Nintendo implements GamePass to Switch within the next 2 years, so we'll see.
Yes it will come out but what makes you sure there is a contract? You seen itDoom 3 VR has a contract in place... so it will come to PSVR.
This is NeoGAF. Literally nothing is undeniable.Still though, it's undeniable that xbox will have a stronger pull for people now. It's a good counter for them against Sony's exclusives approach.
I’m going to ask this again. What would the agreement say? As far as I am aware multiplat titles without exclusivity do not have ‘agreements’ - because there is nothing to be agreed upon
