Anyone got the SP4 to boot from PXE or USB? Trying to get Win10Enterprise on it so I can actually use it for work, but the damned thing just won't boot from any USB device.
Edit: got it to boot from USB when reformatting it to fat32. Still can't get my USB Ethernet adapter (Dlink that's worked fine on the Surface pro 2) to work tho.
can I stream my xbone to this?
Yup. Can do anything you'd expect any Windows 10 machine to do, hardware permitting.
why do you need enterprise? It already has Pro which should allow you to do anything within a domain organization.
Direct Access is only available on Enterprise.
Your IT admin should be able to provide you a license key to upgrade Pro to Enterprise.
Question. My SP4 i7 charged all night. I spend 15 min browsing and it was already down to 83% (1hr 13min capacity left). This was on 50% brightness. And the fans were just going nuts. It was ridiculous because I was only browsing.
Most of the time you can look up the culprit in taskmanager

It's supposed to have resistance so it doesn't collapse.
I work in the IT department, it's already fixedThe USB I was using was NTFS formatted, and the Dlink Ethernet adapter that worked ont he SP2 doesn't work on the SP4 (for PXE). So I'll have to wait until the dock arrives before I can start testing PXE rollout.
The whole point was to do a fresh install with our own image, to do some testing, for a possible future rollout on a larger scale.
WOAH. Is that even with the Surface 3? I haven't pulled my kickstand back that far, because I worry about breaking it off or something.
Anyone know of a good Ebook reader program for Windows?
I a few in the Windows Store, but they didn't work all that well. For some reason they couldn't import epubs properly.
A full screen mode with touch/swipe support would be nice.
I tried Ebook Reader from Icecream Apps, but the UI didnt support high PPI screens.
From what I gather NOOK and Freda are supposed to be the better ebook reader apps on the Windows Store, but neither are available for download for some reason.
Try this one, should have everything you want.

I woke up too early this morning, so sketched in bed for a while. It's surprisingly comfortable to use the kickstand to draw on the SP4 in bed, even while lying down.
Does anyone have the Core m3 model?
Any impressions? I like the fanless design, but if power is too restricted it's probably not worth it...
Thanks! It was drawn in Clip Studio Pro using the Frenden pencil custom brushes.Very nice sketch! Was that on Fresh Paint?
FYI, I almost never activate the fan on the i5, only when doing very complex high resolution painting.Does anyone have the Core m3 model?

Wow. I agree with you completely on the apple exosysent part. Was a huge apple fan. Then things changed. I now own a nexus 6p and already considering a windows 10. Let me know what you decided and if you have any regrets.![]()

It's odd because others say the fan comes on all the time, neven just watching a video. Maybe stupid chrome or a particular app being crappy?
Looks like MS finally spoke about some of the SP4 and SB issues. They say they are working on fixes. Better than the silence of the past two months I guess.

I have my SP4 i7 but it keeps BSOD when launching The Witcher 3. Any tips/workarounds out there?
I'm creating a full review on my SP4 experiences, hoping to complete it just before Christmas.
I've "solved" the problem for now... one USB stick(!) causes the SP4 to lose its Wi-Fi connection. I guess that shouldn't happen. Let's see whether it persists under different conditions.Purchased myself a SP4, and after playing with it for a few hours, Wi-Fi suddenly doesn't work anymore. I see all available networks, I simply cannot connect to any of them. Restart didn't work, deactivating the adapter and even uninstalling it didn't work.
Any ideas?

Well, "strange", it's a rather fast USB 3 stick made by Transcend, but apart from that, nothing unusual. Really weird. Other USB devices don't cause that problem.oh wow!that's awful. I'm glad it's working again.
is there anything strange about that USB stick?
Can you check what causes the BSOD?
Well...I think I've made my decision. I'll be putting my MacBook Pro on eBay this week, it seems. A lot of what was holding me back was my abysmal battery life on this Surface, but I remembered I installed some Samsung SSD driver which others attributed to being a battery vampire. Well, I did a full refresh of my SP4 over the weekend, and now I'm getting at least twice the battery I was before, and definitely in the range of what id expect from this thing. Bravo to MS, also, for addressing the early issues with this thing, as well.
does anyone ever get Windows Hello just sitting there saying "Making sure it's you..." and it never logs you in?
and then since Windows 10 is SO DUMB about bringing up the keyboard when you touch a text input field, you have to restart the computer because there's no way to log in.
I just disabled Windows Hello for now. My GF was like shocked when she saw me use Hello. She thought it was so cool. But it seems a little buggy still.
I've also come into my office after sleeping and the infrared "Hello" light is turned on like it was trying to "find me" all night or something.
