So I read a couple of them, both the high scoring ones and the more middling ones.
The shelob thing gets mentioned in some, and how they take some freedoms... I personally couldn't care less as I don't know much about the lore anyway, and as long as it's executed well.
The open world gets praised for being bigger and more diverse, but maybe looks a bit dated according to some, compared to the first one?
The combat and the deeper siege mechanics gets the most praise so far.
The nemesis system and the variety found among the different orcs also seems positive, while more central characters to the plot don't get as much attention
RPG mechanics or systems can initially feel overwhelming as there is a lot going on.
And the lootbox microtransactions are mentioned a lot, some say that it never felt intrusive or in the way, but highly optional, and something that feels tacked on.
My moral compass has somewhat taken a hit on this matter. Some time ago I was ok with games like Halo 5 and Overwatch doing it because it financed the free dlc model, which was really beneficial for the players. But then with Halo wars 2, they introduced them even though the dlc was paid, and they are present in Destiny 2 as well. I don't feel as though that they are a big part of the aforementioned games, but more minor optional things. To be clear though, I have not spend a single dime on any of these microtransactions where they don't serve a greater purpose.
So far I am intrigued by what I've read, but I will ultimately wait a bit, mainly because I want to know how AC:Origins fares as well.
Edit: Also These reviews aren't that good in helping me to the judge visual and technical quality, hopefully DF covers that aspect soon.
