I can't seem to connect my Nintendo account to miitomo and get it all started. It's saying my email isn't correct or if i sign in another way which is linked, I keep getting an error.

Is there just a lot of traffic right now?

The points thing is a little confusing. There are Miitomo points, which are platinum points with a different icon (I think) and then regular platinum points AND THEN gold points for buying things in the eShop and I have no idea what those are even for.

Here the fix for error code 801-1700

Edit: It seems like you only need to pick the country based on your appstore region when you start the app for the first time. If its US you need to pick US even if your NNID is from another region (e.g: canada)

Yeah, this seems to be the solution. Sadly, I think I made a mistake. I downloaded both the playstore and appstore versions and tried to link my account in both versions, so something went wrong; when I want to link my playstore version it says my account is linked to mittomo data.

I'm having the same problem. You have to change your NNID settings on the Wii U. I did that but it's still not working, not sure how long it takes. It's been a few hours for me and still nothing.

You can add mutual Facebook friends, too, to be fair ... it's not just Twitter =P

It scans your list automatically, but only when you first link it. If you want it to search your list again, you have to go to "add friends" and manually ask it to search your Twitter list for new friend possibilities.
