[MinnMax] 175 Rapid-Fire Questions About Obsidian's Avowed (with Game Director, Carrie Patel)

Shame you can't take your advice when it comes to Avowed threads.

We can't be informed before purchase?
Didn't say whatever the answer is you have to care about it.

'We'?

That's one way of looking at it. Another is that all companions have affinity stats, you're just not boning them like Mass Effect.

I was joking, but no relationship thing doesn't mean no DEI crap. Didn't need a relationship for top surgery scars and misgendering lectures.

Other than the pronoun tag, they really haven't shown anything of the game that screams the kind of stuff like DA: Veilguard did. I legitimately don't understand that kind of comparison or criticism.

Multiple previews have already said that you can be a right dick to people in conversations, so we know it's not doing the ultra-sanitized conversation dialogue like DA: V either, at least.

This is the kind of efficiency we've been demanding on western devs for a while now.
Same year AAA efficiency from the same studio is an insane ask as these are not the PS2 days anymore. This moment happening would literally be an exception and not the rule, in all ways.

Not to mention you're not considering how they need to meet sales targets and stepping over themselves isn't good for that either.

I know it's popular to hate on this game but I liked both PoE 1 and 2, and I am inclined to try this one out. Sure, the combat won't reach the absolute level of pristine quality of Dark Messiah. But it has no romance, which is a plus in this case. It has no level scaling, which is a plus. It's not open-world, which is a plus. And you apparently can be evil. Which is always a plus.

I don't like mushrooms, though.

If it by any chance gives me a Pillars of Eternity vibe but in First Person I will be very happy. I LOVE Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2.

I'm 100% down for this game if it comes to the ps5. Everything i've seen recently of it looks great and i love RPG's so it's up my alley.

White girl named Patel?

either way ill play it on gamepass but i was not impressed by The Outer Worlds or anything else Obsidian has made in the last decade. Their games are not bad just excruciatingly mediocre.

Pillars of Eternity is the best CRPG of the last decade and i'm tired pretending it's not.

The games are at least 6 months apart, so no sales overlap.

Can't wait for NPCs in fantasy rpg to tell me about pronouns and teach me what non binary means.

Most likely none of that exists in Avowed, so you're gonna have to play Veilguard.

White girl named Patel?

She's married…

Duh 🙄
