it's quite terrible. I wanted to like it quite badly as well. it really doesn't flow as well as it looks like it's going to initially.

Nah, I'm a game design student and got a chance to meet some EA marketing people and such. A group of us went out afterwards and got drunk and they started talking about stuff. They weren't even sure if said stuff would materialise so I kind of took everything with a grain of salt. I didn't say anything on here because a) I said I wouldn't and b) I'd look like a dickhead if things didn't come to fruition. I shouldn't have said anything in the first place, hah, but my name was in grey before I had a chance to explain myself. Mirror's Edge 2 was one of the games mentioned, but like I said, it doesn't mean it's going to happen. Seeing this pop up on amazon around the place gives me high hopes, however.

If it is a One exclusive, that does at least open the door to a possible PC release at some point.
Play it on iOS. It's better.
The game has a steep learning curve that once mastered; its incredible.
After that point the time trials are like crack. Original Tony Hawk crack-like.

That's got to be it then - Mirror's Edge 2 is real. There's just too many coincidences happening these past few days for it not to be. I'm excited as hell, but also dreading the kind of shit EA is going to pull with a sequel. I also pray that it isn't exclusive to Xbone.
Yes, it's not that long a game once you've grasped the mechanics. The meat of it is actually in the time trials and the speedruns. Just don't play on hard, and don't be shy about using guns (even though they suck).

Likewise... I don't own a PC and don't plan to buy an Xbox One. However, if it is a Kinect-only game, then the pain will be somewhat alleviated.

I dont think its likely. Kinect features sure but this type of game would be pretty awful without the controller.

Being xbone console exclusive would kind of suck. I really want to ditch my desktop PC in favour of a laptop soon. 
By all means make a separate kinect exclusive mode for it. I am sure that might be neat.
But I expect another 2-ish sequels to even bigger franchises from other pubs to be xbox exclusive after E3 so I bet the meltdowns would be fun. MS is going to make it rain moneyhats at E3.

Yeah, with the low sales Mirror's Edge got those are the type of games that are probably most likely to be exclusives. LOL at meltdowns happening already. I'm glad I took two days off for E3, the press conference aftermath will be glorious.
I got that one for free... and it still wasn't worth it. What a piece of crap.

Yes.
The original Mass Effect proves almost everything is timed, but I think that's the closest you'd get. It's the beginning if the gen. If there is some sort of time frame for exclusivity it won't be public knowledge, since letting you know firmly you could wait it out would be counterintuitive to the whole goal.
I loved the original Mirror's Edge and always hoped for a sequel but i don't plan to buy an XBox One though. This is going to be very sad indeed if it isn't coming to Playstation (and all signs point in that direction).
Maybe Microsoft actually DID manage to strike a lot of 3rd party exclusive deals... I wouldn't care if it was Call of Duty or such but Mirror's Edge...

I wouldn't buy an Xbox One for Mirror's Edge 2, and I fucking love Mirror's Edge.

Haven't decided on the console yet(like any smart person), but if this is xbox one exclusive MS has the keys so far...
You would and you will buy an X1 if ME2 is worth it. Just like I bought a Dreamcast for Shenmue and Sonic Adventure, a PS2 for Grand Theft Auto 3, an Xbox for Halo, a PS3 for Uncharted and a 360 for PGR 3. Games sell consoles, in the end all the stuff that is wrong on the hardware side don't matter. Maybe you'll only buy X1 for one game and then sell it again but if Mirror's Edge 2 turns out to be a worthy successor to the first you'll bite the sour grape.
