here are some pictures from Pasta Padre from the community event. If you noticed some of the pics above have Team logos on the walls alot, apparently that is where the real time score boards are, but since there are no score those are just place holders.

These don't seem to be as high quality as the Operation sports screens though, still great.

The one thing that pisses me off about baseball games is that they always have generic gloves. Maybe its just because I love baseball gloves so much but it gets annoying seeing everyone with the same glove.

The outfield wall is wrong in the game, neither the Mets nor the Yankees would give them plans for the new stadiums. The devs had to guess and look at mock-ups to make the stadiums.

That is what's so amazing about it. What you say is true, and that in itself is hard to believe after looking at these incredible pics. I would go as far as to say it's the best playing baseball ever and near the very very top of best playing sports game ever. The only other one that comes close recently is NHL 09.

It's weird, in times like these where Amercian Football and Basketball games have fallen to such all time lows, other sports games step up and make it some of the best times to be a sports game ever (MLB: The Show, NHL 09 and FIFA 09 are all masterpieces imo).

interesting. I love the Pitching and Fielding controls in MLB 2k8 so I wouldn't be angry if they switched to this. Although they would probably still have the old stuff too. And I bet they could do it better than 2k too.

Looks beautiful. The only teenie-weenie minor thing I would like to see them improve on is the dirt. It just looks, I dunno, too "clean" and flat IMO. But yeah, day 1 for sure.

And old? Demo possibly out tomorrow.

It appears that the PS3 demo for MLB 09 The Show is expected to be out tomorrow February 5th. Generally PSN updates at around 3pm PT. I’m still waiting on confirmation from SCEA but this does match-up with previous info that has been provided in terms of when it would arrive. The demo is four innings long and features a rematch of the World Series with the Tampa Bay Rays at the Philadelphia Phillies. As mentioned in my community preview write-ups the demo is based on a build several weeks prior to the one we played but it should be a fair representation of what to expect with the final product.

I’ll try to get up a few videos of the demo in the evening and point out some things that may have been fixed or improved upon in the near final build that I played last week vs what the demo offers.

heh was just about to post that.

edit: the things that I would like improved the most is the player models. The arms are too short. They look like a Tyrannosaurus rex or something. Oh and I would love if they made it so the grass wasn't just flat, and so that if the park had taller grass the ball would go slower in the infield and if it was short it would go faster.

Heh, funny you should mention this. I was discussing this with FMT last night on aim, wondering if EA will ever get Madden to be the football equivalent to MLB the show.
