I think baseball is doing a solid job of growing the sport. the WBC def. helps. u got academies popping up in Brazil, the Netherlands making it to SF, got a guy in Aaron Hicks from Compton maybe starting for the Twins, etc.

David Hernandez was supposed to play for Mexico this WBC and was training with them but wasn't eligible because it turns out his grandparents were born in the US and not Mexico. Then Chris Perez got hurt and he joined the US squad less than a week after he was with the Mexican squad.
