MLB Off-season Thread 2015-2016 IOTI Back to the Future was a lie

Nexen Heroes announced that winning posting fee for Byung-ho Park is $12.85M. Winning bid will be announced later. Highest for asian league position player after Ichiro. I wonder how much Kang showing his bat translated helped raise it?

Also I'd be stunned at Pirates paying $12M for Latos. Maybe we fell into a pile of money or something.

Lol, no way DeWallet pays that for Chris Davis.

If they don't get Heyward, I'd expect them to explore a salary add via trade.

The money flowing around in the sports is absolutely insane. Back in 1998, the Red Sox gave a 26 year old certain player at the time a $75M contract, the most ever for a pitcher.

It makes me wish I never quit playing. Even scrub, replacement-level players can be set for life with just a few seasons in MLB now. The fucking league minimum now is half a million dollars.

Shit, even just getting drafted could pay off your student debt.

I hope the new D-backs unis encorporate the awesome DB logo more. That's a fantastic logo, but they don't accentuate it enough.

Park has STUPID power. It will carry.

Who do you guys think The Blue Jays will target in the free agency?

Chris Davis! All the home runs!

nah, a couple pitchers probably. or if Estrada accepts the qualifying offer, then one other pitcher. I'm thinking someone around the 15-18 AAV range.

I don't like the projection of Cueto and Gordon to the Sox.

Saw this blurb in a Wall Street Journal article:

ESPN’s telecasts of Major League Baseball games have averaged about 1.25 million viewers each the past three seasons. However, audience sizes for national, regular-season baseball games are nearly 40% lower than they were a decade ago, and the average baseball viewer is about 56 years old.

Rockies have serious interest in Daniel Murphy.

Dude would probably slash something ridiculous there.

Dude averages 11 homeruns a season. Colorado wouldn't turn him into a power hitter. He's a career .288 hitter, not bad.

He will consistently give you 15 errors per year at second. I don't know what he's going to be paid, but the team that does do will almost certainly grow to regret it.

so if Byung-Ho Park gets signed somewhere, who's the next Korean girl group star going to be to throw out the first pitch

we had CL and Hyomin this year
