Was in New York for the week and just got back from my first ever baseball game. I'm not sure what a thrashing is in baseball but it felt like the Yankees thrashed the Indians.

Was a great experience and saw some nice catches from Swisher. I would definitely watch anther game.

Back to the UK and 'soccer' tomorrow.

we beat them 'handily' tonight. come back soon! and tell your friends how awesome baseball is!

Jesus, sounds like a hell of a game from Latos. I was dealing with cockroaches in Peoria and hotel fiascos so I only caught brief snippets but God damn, domination.

Chapman's breaking ball is broken right now, so whatever we can do keep him out of the game, the better. He has personally cost the reds 4 games in his last 7 appearances.

I can't believe I've been banned the entire season and missed all the Orioles' glory. Now that I'm back, we'll see if they swoon. It is expected; I'm conditioned for it.

Phillies GM Ruben Amaro Jr. says that he isn't taking calls yet on Cole Hamels or Shane Victorino.

Despite the Phillies woeful season thus far and being in last place in the NL East, they are still only 4.5 games back of the second Wild Card spot, which is currently a four-way tie between the Braves, Cardinals, Mets, and Pirates.

Wild Card Standings going into June 26, 2012. Wild Card #2 is tied in both leagues.

i expect it to be a sellers market from now on at the all star break with the new wild card. Everyone except for a few teams will think they are still in it.

Phillies havent even gotten their team back yet, way to earlier to even think about selling.

Oh I deserved the ban. I just can't believe the timing coincided with Orioles success, and the reveling in it I would have done.
Ah, my bad. We need more Orioles fans around here anyway. I hate it when there isn't a baseball-GAF for teams that are good/on the rise. That's why I love to see Diamondbacks-GAF, Pirates-GAF and Royals-GAF growing. We even used to have 3-5 people in Marlins-GAF, but something something Miami nightlife something... now there's only 1 guy.

End the season today. 4 way WC tie. Bring it on! It'll be a round robin tournament. If there happens to be a tie somehow, then they'll be a 5 way team sack race on consecutive sundays until a winner is crowned.

Phillies should trade the Yankees Hamels.

He'll be a Yankee soon anyway; might as well get a player or two out of it.
I'm not so sure about that especially with the mandate to be under $189 million in 2014 unless they let one of Granderson or Cano walk.

CAPT! welcome back, where you been man?

Dealing with a bunch of crap...just getting out from under it, finally.
Also, losing GOD this season just stole a lot of my baseball heart for a bit. The weather is heating up, and thus returns the baseball to my soul.

@SuperMalo: We are probably going to lose one of those guys, though...I kind of assumed that already. :(

Holy shit. I was just telling someone last night that Fredi needed to move Heyward to #2 and bump Prado down to #3. Excellent.
(i would prefer heyward/chipper 1 and 2 and then probably mccann/uggla 3/4 and then prado/bourn/freeman next and simmons and the pitcher last...but i'll take what i can get.

no no no...we have to keep them both. tight suit and A-rod are on their way down, if we lose Grandy man and Swag we have no offense. they'll get paper, that is a near guarantee.

I hope they don't really intend to stick to that austerity plan
I hope they don't either, but with Hal coming out and confirming it, I'd say there's a pretty good chance they stick to it.

We can definitely keep both of them, but if we do the chances of signing Hamels and Swisher in the offseason are pretty much gone.

If I had to choose between Hamels and Granderson, I'd go with Hamels since we have some in house options to replace him like, Gardner and, Mason Williams down the road if he continues to develop.

Swisher? meh. it'd be like trading Grandy and Cano for him. and how has Hamels performed in interleague?

The 2012 American League and National League All-Star teams will be unveiled on Sunday on the 2012 MLB All-Star Game Selection Show, televised nationally on TBS. Baseball fans around the world will then be able to select the final player on each team via the 2012 All-Star Game Final Vote on MLB.com.

And the voting doesn't end there. The final phase of All-Star Game voting will again have fans participating in the official voting for the Ted Williams All-Star Game Most Valuable Player Award presented by Chevrolet. During the Midsummer Classic, fans will vote exclusively online at MLB.com via the 2012 All-Star Game MLB.com MVP Vote, and their voice will represent 20 percent of the official vote determining the recipient of the Arch Ward Trophy.
