What do you know about third place?! What do you know about skyrocketing playoff chances from 0.1 to 0.4?!

Today might be a bad game for the Pirates. Since Correia and Wandy had 2 inning stints in yesterday's 19 inning game, and we're back to a 5 person rotation with Correia back in the pin, we're going to have to look to the minor league for a starting pitcher today.

Which mean's were probably going to have to score some runs to win this game, but with Marte and Walker out of the lineup, and Cutch on a bit of a cold streak, this game could be pretty ugly despite us playing the Padres (Not that it matters, since we apparently can't beat them healthy either...)

Pirates are bringing up Kyle McPherson and Justin Wilson from the minors, but Correia may be getting today's start regardless.

Excited to see what they can do.

He wants to get away from all the other roidheads hitting the HOF ballot along with him - Clemens, Sosa, Bonds, Big Mac - If he makes a professional roster, he has to wait 5 years to get on the ballot.

He has to make a MLB team in order for it to reset. Tom Glavine pitched in the Braves minor league system in 2009, but his ballot countdown continued.

Just posted in the Survivor thread but that's pretty awesome that Jeff Kent is going to be on survivor. It will be very entertaining.

Look forward to seeing what Clemens does with independent league debut. I wonder if he is doing this for personal pride, boredom or actually trying to get into the majors.

This is a good call. I wouldn't doubt he's trying to delay HOF voting for him as long as possible to increase his chances. He knows there's no way in hell he's getting in right now.

He'll definitely get in eventually though. He was dominant before steroids even hit the scene, and then '04 and '05 after the steroid fiasco he was still dominating in his 40's.

I think in his mind he wants to be a first ballot hall of famer, and that's not going to happen with anybody tainted by this mess. He can try to sign a one day contract or whatever, but he's going to go through a decade-long message sending by the HOF voters no matter when he becomes eligible.

As for Bonds, I'm anxious to see what happens with him. He belongs in the HOF more than anyone, but his steroid years were just so fucking apparent. He became almost unrecognizable over a period of five years. His hat size grew for god sakes.

sounds like Sandy might give Johan two more starts then shut him down when rosters expand. Rotation might stay at 6 with a callup joining the staff. Hoping its Jenrry Mejia, been solid as a starter.
