Dude, I'm suppose to be the overreactor here. The red sox played three games against one of the best teams in baseball. In the off-season we didn't have the money to go after some of the bigger free agents especially with the management turmoil and we did add some to the bullpen. Just relax and learn to love the Bobby Valentine show and leave me to play chicken little.

Nah, it's no big deal. The Red Sox started out 0-6 last year and everything turned out w-

Slightly OT, but I'm annoyed by articles/tweets/headlines that say "It's early, but..." or "Small Sample Size, but.."

Shit's so formulaic. The whole point of baseball is to ignore the short game.

Astros above .500 for the first time since 2009. I shall enjoy this feeling! I won't have it much longer.

Don't worry. The Braves will be sure not to score unless we're down by an insurmountable margin and wish to make the score look way closer than the game actually is.

People always say this but a game in April counts exactly the same as one in September. Dismissing slow starts as if they don't matter at all is just silly.

Speaking of slow starts, the Giants will be looking to avoid going 0-4 for the first time since 1950. Barry Zito will be taking the mound in their next game. Season already over!

i was way off

This post is beautiful by the way.

So we expect more post from you this year and no hiatus like last year? :)

My hiatus was the result of a new job, which sadly I'll be starting again soon, and the result of our beloved Brian Roberts failing to show up. Now that I've come to accept that he won't be apart of the next World Series Orioles team, I won't take it personal.

I was just messing with you. I get used to it with the Dodger bashing...hehe

. Sorry to hear about Roberts because he had a bright future like Utley. I hoping Johnson would be one of them hidden gems in the fantasy world and rack up some saves....

Tigers are sick this year. Looks like I have to pray for their bullpen to blow up.

I am actually kind of hoping they run away with the division, that way that nagging feeling that the Indians needed to go all out and get a rh bat to make a run will not come to fruition.

Basically. Except they wouldn't be a division winner.
its still the second best non-division winners that are wild cards i believe. A division winner can still have a worse record than the wild cards.

they really should just get rid of the divisions and take the top 5 teams. (incoming West Cost Fans complaining about travel times)

Cashman or someone, just curious what's making the long term deal with Kinsler on hold? I heard he wants a long term but the talks have been on a stall. Any inside scoop?

I heard they were waiting for Cano's contract to set the bar. I think theyll come to a deal before the homestand is over, but if not then they'll have to get a deal done next off season.

Minnesota Public Radio station The Current is playing a bunch of baseball songs this morning.

This title gave me a laugh.

I love that the Red Sox closing situation blew up in their faces already. I can't wait to see Bard fail as a fifth pitcher. The dumbest fucking move they made in the off season. Hard to root for this team.

Yeah, the whole Brian Roberts thing has been just terrible all around. He had serious trade value 3-4 years ago and there were rumors that we might trade him but of course it didn't happen. Now, he's as injured as they come and we've lacked a leadoff hitter for 3 years now. For a while he was one of the few exciting players on the team.

And Jim Johnson is no Kevin Gregg, but I think he'll do just fine as a closer all year barring injury.

Cant wait to see what the orange haired one brings to US of A.

But, the truth is, the Marlins need every fan they can get in the ballpark or watching on tv... or any other kind of patronage. They can't afford ANYBODY boycotting the team for any reason. Personally, I think he's set into motion his eventual firing. Sounds stupid, but yeah, I think it's coming.
