You had the best record in the league for a day.
At least you can say that.

Insane in terms of starting his service clock early? Yep.Wondering, with Motte being shut down until May and Tommy John looking likely for him, if the Cards will try to sign Brian Wilson. Wouldn't have to hand him the 9th right away and he might bring some stability to the pen. Some people on the Cards site are saying to bring up Wacha which would be absolutely insane.
How many chances are you gonna give Axford, Roenicke, you fucking shit? God DAMMIT.
And Safeco Field itself, in the second game with its new outfield dimensions, hosted eight homers in all -- the third most in a single game in the history of the ballyard.
Seems like its a release point issue. He has dropped way down and also sort of abandoned his curveball. Should be pretty easy to fix.
Anybody worried about Kimbrel? Or is this just early season jitters? He got rocked in the WBC, and hasn't been his normal unhittable self lately. He's gotten out of the jams, but made it more interesting than it should be. Seems to not have his control at the time. I feel like he's probably okay, but he's got to work out some jitters. Hope Freddy didn't kill his arm already.
Also, I feel pretty good with the lineup the Braves have now. Gattis is killing it, and Pena is clutch off the bench. Laird has been solid as well. Johnson is still a great utility guy. J Upton is obviously killing it and BJ is doing a little better now. It's just a totally different feel than in previous years, we have a powerful lineup but there are a lot of strikeouts there. Which is fine, it's just not typical for us. I feel like we should be pretty solid throughout the year when J Upton hits an inevitable slump and then others can come out of theirs. We should have enough good bats that when some are in a slump, others are on fire.
Thoughts?
Axford is just following the Kolb/Turnbow/Cordero Brewers' closer path of coming out of nowhere to dominate for a year or two and then fade back into obscurity. It's Henderson's turn to continue the cycle.
Got tickets for today's game, and as much as I'd love to see the Blue Jays suck it up live, 100% precipitation..
Yea he is. Threw twice for the Mets in the offseason wasnt ready. Said he will throw for teams once he feels 100%. Most likely early May.Wait, why is Brian Wilson a free agent anyway?
Shit, get him Cards. He has the beard that goes so well with the rest of the beards the Cardinals have sported on-and-off over the last few seasons.
Seems like basically all the non-dome games are going to get rained out.
bleh. Looking at the radar, it doesn't look like this Reds-Cards game is going to be played today.
Wade Boggs is bitter that his number hasn't been officially retired yet. Not sure if want...
IT's probably a slump. I think he's more structurally sound than Venters- so I don't think it's his arm.
He'll probably never repeat last year, that was historic, but he can still be Billy Wagner good.
Gattis will likely cool off 2nd half of the season when folks start to gameplan for him.

I find it strange when a player comes out and says he wants a team to retire his jersey.
Uhh, that's not your call.
According to Wilner (Jays guy), it's a light drizzle but he thinks the game will go on.
2-6 here we come!

Jays-Tigers is the free game on MLB.TV (starting in a couple minutes) if anyone cares.
Postponed to 1:30-1:40
The Astros have a better run differential than the Blue Jays, Marlins, Phillies, Brewers, and Padres.
