first time playing the show. i'm getting into diamond dynasty now. can somebody explain the little up and down fluctuations of a player's overall rating? like, when the main number in the right corner has an up arrow and a higher number above it, does that mean the higher number is the current rating? if that's the current rating, why is it still printed smaller? does that just mean it's more likely to be a temporary change or something?

I've got 28k right now and have 14k on the way as I'm almost done with the singles diamond mission, I'm hoping as I finish these team epic IIIs that I get lucky with a post game pull or something. I'm about done with a singles diamond mission, so I should have about 50k in stubs soon. I have yet to lock in Seager or Harper. I prefer to keep Seager cause I hit well with him and he plays power hitting SS/3B which is kind of a thin position in the game. At first I was hellbent on selling Harper but in the games I've played with him, he's been absurd. Plus, Harper is a once-a-year kind of pull. But I'm torn. If I keep him around, I'd have to claw my way to get the other 3 diamonds on the Nationals to get Andre Dawson, who is great but I could also use pitching reinforcement. I could sell Harper and acquire Chris Sale, Jansen, Dodgers epic Greinke and still have 90k or so left over. Hell, I could sell Harper and if certain players go gold, I could get me a Trout!

Eventually when I get 100 ranked/event wins and finish the Diamond program, I'll have Vida Blue and that 99 Ripken on the way.

And then I have the Marlins/Rays/Rangers waiting to be finished, but I don't feel like the players on those teams are "end game" kind of guys so I'm not sure if spending about 90k that it'd take to finish those teams is worth it. But I hate that they're cheap and are just lying around waiting to be done lol

Breakout Kinsler is an end game 2B, monster at the plate.

Buddy Bell is pretty damn good actually, I'm hitting .500 with the guy and is a GG 3B or SS.

Davrish is a stud and almost unhittable in Live.

You've already gone over the reasons for the Dodgers.

Plus, Harper is a once-a-year kind of pull. But I'm torn.

And I think they're going to release a second baseman better than Kinsler, like a 2010 Cano, probably in the ticket store when being a diamond level gets you a 97+ player. Or you could finish the Mariners and get Cano/Edgar. Edgar isn't as bad as a 3B defensively as people make him out to be (never had an error with him) and his bat is amazing.

Or of course you could finish the Mets and have Thor in your rotation along with 99 Wright.

Although now thinking about it finishing the Yankees might be your best bet. 2 elite bullpen arms and a catcher you'll use for a long time. I've been using Posada as my starting catcher for about a week and a half and I've hit nearly 40 bombs with the guy while hitting .475.

92 Ryan is honestly my favorite pitcher. Dude is unhittable. If he comes up against the CPU it's a CG with 16-20k's every time. Also he is a beast in online play.

I like 97 Greinke although I haven't used him online yet, but against the CPU he has been very solid for me. My rotation right now is Kershaw/Blue/Greinke/Nolasco/Hughes (last 2 for team epics). Breakout Nolasco even though he is only 85 is one of my favorite pitchers.

Posada is nasty at the plate, but I've used him in BR, and that 11 speed is just awful lol.

It is awful which is why I bat him 8th, having a switch hitter like him just before the pitcher is awesome though.

Try using the rookie greinke card, I get the complaints. His pitching motion is just weird as fuck, honestly seems clunky irrespective of the stats. Maybe it's just me but I couldn't deal with it

Been using dozier at 2b forever, totally get why he's one of the premier gold cards.

Made a bold move. Sold Seager, got Lindor. Less pop in the bat but switch hitter with better D. I'm way more comfortable with righty against right than lefty vs lefty. With the increase of LHP in lineups these days, I feel more comfortable with this lineup.

2 Switch hitters at the top with a left and right power bat behind them. The left handed power bats are protected by two good rightys behind him so I dare you to bring a left handed specialist in. Bell in the 8 hole protects from the pitcher leading off.

I never liked Yogi. Dude was so short and it always threw me off when I went to bat with him. Same with Aaron Judge, his box is so big

I've read Sale is nasty but I feel like his pitch repertoire is kind of limited as a lefty. It's the same as Kershaw but I like Kershaw's curve better. I find that as a lefty, throwing sliders into righties can often mean death if it's not placed right. I've also been bad with him in past years.
