[MLiD] XBOX Magnus RDNA 5 Finalized

I hope Magnus will have the Directx12Ultimate API Stack Fully implemented and utilized from both hardware and software:

Variable Rate Shading
Mesh Shaders
Checkerboard rendering (for 8k perhaps)
Sampler Feedback Streaming
FSR4.0+
DirectXRaytracing

I still believe the ps6 console will be $599. It will be well designed and will not rely on brute force but on proper game developmenr technics, tools, and AI. The pspnext, well I dont know the price estimate.
It won't be, every consumer electronics product follows the same trajectory - upwards with top earners responsible for vast majority of spendings. This is the paradigm shift of this generation - you don't need to cater to as many people as possible anymore. High hardware price + high subscription costs will make sure you make money from much smaller install base.

Damn. I always knew they made money off repeat buyers but 1.4 billion just seems insane. Definitely can't see them changing their business model with that kind of money at stake.

I agree. These features will certainly make video games more fun.

As in fun to watch! Especially the soon to be released DF foundry videos how the API along with the RDNA 5 microarchitectures makes grass and trees look soooooo good!!! Cant wait to see the fps line graphs hit 60+hz stable! Yaaaaaa!!!!

30-50% depending on TDP targets for both
An extra 30–50% difference compared to the PS6 seems like a lot to me. We've never seen a technical disparity like that before. With those percentages, would you expect to see a noticeable difference in multiplatform games at a glance?

Of course we have, PS4 Pro vs Xbox One X. The One X was at least 50% more powerful. 4 Teraflops vs 6.

To be honest, I don't recall any substantial or sustained differences between the PS4 Pro and the Xbox One X, at least in terms of visuals.
Then you missed it, One X was doing native 4k, and PS4 Pro had to rely on Checker boarded 4k. There was that famous Red Dead Redemption 2 case where it cut the y Axis in half for the 4k resolution on the Pro. Some weird resolution. I'm sure there's Digital Foundry videos on it probably.

Anyways, I think Helix will be 35-40% easily more powerful, because MS is also doing high clocks. So Orion won't have an advantage in any single facet.

There were definitely cases in favor of the One X. The thing is, I believe that at this point, I don't know which hardware can still show any significant differences nowadays. Especially with all the upscaling techniques and so on. In my opinion, the Switch 2 represents a major obstacle. And the Series S does too.

Yeah, I played RE9 on PC with Path tracing, PS5 Pro, and XSX. I didn't see a big difference between any of them. The much bigger difference is access to mods on PC. Way bigger than some small difference in graphics.

Theoretically, Series S should no longer post an issue for Helix, with the scalable Universal SKU.

PC SKUs of games scale every hardware.

This is a very well-told lie by Microsoft.

The vast majority of "true 4K" on the Xbox One X is variable resolution, in the case of Gears of War it even drops to 1080p.

And this is an example of how ignorant Xbox is about games and consoles... a whole year spouting "true 4K" before the console even came out... only to become obsolete because nobody cares about native resolution.

I might be wrong but i suspect One X might have more "true 4k" games than PS5 and SX. RDR2 showed the biggest difference vs. PS4 Pro.

More like 16GB max DDR3.

Still much better than rumored PS6.

True 4K is completely irrelevant in Gen 10. Upscaling is now a free performance boost. Inefficient non-neural rendering should just be as dead for console as it's on PC.

I agree. But it wasn't irrelevant for years after PS5/SX launched, difference between native 4K and 1440p with upscaling was clear as day.

This is MLID coping. The chance it's 48GB is 0%.

It's either 24GB or 36GB (more likely).
He also said up to 40GB for PS6. He's not coping. He's just using math. This isnt for you, but: 160 bit bus vs 192 bit bus. 5/10 RAM modules vs 6/12 RAM modules (160/32 = 5, 192/32 = 6).

Key phrase is "up to". Helix will either have 36 or 48GB, and PS6 will either have 30 or 40GB.

24GB for Helix is as silly as 20GB for PS6.

*complains about 'majority of games not being true 4K*
*then says nobody cares about native resolution*
