If my MMA Math is correct (47.4% of the time according to Sherdog), Cain will knock out Mir. Compare their Zombie Nog fights for the irrefutable evidence, gentlemen.

I'll agree that Sonnen doesn't have KO power but 'pillow fists' seems like a stretch. Marquardt looked like a mess after tangling with Sonnen for 3 rounds on the ground. What makes Sonnen (to me) exciting is that he's usually busy and making them pay for letting him sit in the guard.

I would be surprised to see Sonnen do to Bisping what he did to Stann.

Same reason people call Bisping "Pillow Fists" despite him having 18 finishes in his 22 wins.

UFC on FX 1: dream's Worst Nightmare

Melvin Guillard vs. Jim Miller
Duane "Bang" Ludwig vs. Josh Neer
Mike Easton vs. Jared Papazian
Pat Barry vs. Christian Morecraft
Jorge Rivera vs. Eric Schafer
Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Kamal Shalorus
Charlie Brenneman vs. Daniel Roberts
Fabricio Camoes vs. Tommy Hayden
Daniel Pineda vs. Pat Schilling
Nick Denis vs. Joseph Sandoval

This would be perfect is it were instead Mike Easton vs. Marvin "The Beastman" Eastman

Best phonetic nickname and possible fight ever.

It is pillow fists because he isn't straight up knocking people out. He's got a stockton-slap approach which is very effective in getting the referee to step in and "protect" the fighter.

Why not compare their Kongo fights?

Am I the only one picking Cain? lol

I think it's 50/50. Either Mir breaks Sugar Cain's arm on the first scramble or Mir does one of his "oh I can let him punch me some more, these shots don't hurt at all, in fact I think I will ju zzzzzzzzzzz" brain farts.

Strikeforce recorded a live gate of just $68,805 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Jan. 7, 2012, according to official figures released today from the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC).

The final attendance of 1,992 was a result of 927 tickets sold and 1,065 "comps." A total of 727 seats at "The Joint" remained unfilled.

New channel + perceived weak card + big NFL Playoff day = ....

The UFC's first-ever "UFC Prelims" special on FX drew 880,000 viewers.

MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today learned of the numbers from an industry source.

The latest special, the promotion's first since ending a long-running partnership with Spike TV, coincided with this past Saturday's UFC 142 event and featured four-preliminary card contests during the two-hour broadcast.

The viewership number is slightly smaller than for any of the 26 "UFC Prelims" broadcasts to air on Spike TV but does beat out each of the three specials that aired on ION Television.

UFC 141 took place this past Saturday, Jan. 14, HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro. In addition to the two-hour "UFC Prelims" special, the main card aired on pay-per-view, and one other prelim fight streamed on Facebook.

Oh, and Dana advertising for you to cut the cord as well ...

Does your local cable provider not offer FUEL TV in HD?

Switch to DirecTV, says UFC president Dana White.

"The bottom line is DirecTV has FUEL TV, and it's in HD," White told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). "If you are a hardcore UFC fan, and you are in either Time Warner or Comcast – and you want it now and you want it in HD – you have to switch to DirecTV."

In 2011, FUEL TV was cable's lowest-rated channel. However, thanks largely to the UFC's new partnership with the channel, which airs live fights and an array of other UFC programming, FUEL TV has expanded from a meager 25 million U.S. homes to approximately 36 million in just a matter of months. (By comparison, the UFC's former longtime home, Spike TV, is available in approximately 100 million.)

MMA: Sonnen breaks down GOP race, Silva

Good read. He says he is going to fight Bones or GSP after he beats Bisping.

Also, Sonnen not in character and talking politics.
“It’s a little bit disappointing to me as a fan,” Sonnen said. “I was a Herman Cain guy. I was backing Herman Cain back when he was at one percent. I liked the 9-9-9 program. I liked his straight talk. I liked when they asked him a question and if he doesn’t know the answer he says, ‘I don’t know the answer.’ He took a little heat in the media for that, but I find that very refreshing.
“When Herman pulled out I was also a Trump supporter. I was made to look like a fool. Everybody told me Trump’s not going to run. He’s just doing this as a publicity stunt. I fell for it. I thought he really was going to run. So the two guys I had the most excitement about … neither of them ran. I had hopes for Jeb Bush. I had hopes for Dan Quayle, but I don’t think Dan Quayle has interest in doing anything ever again.”
Who is Sonnen’s favorite among the remaining candidates?
“I’m kind of a man without a country. I think I’ll go look at (Mitt) Romney. I struggle with him being a flip flopper. I struggle with his ties to Massachusetts. I struggle with some of his belief systems, but that doesn’t mean he is not a good, astute guy that knows business and can help take us in the right direction. But I’m not won over yet.”
What about Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, Rick Perry or Ron Paul?
“I really liked Rick Perry,” Sonnen said. “He shot himself in the foot and that’s hard to recover from and that ship’s definitely got holes in it. It’s sinking pretty slowly, but I do like him. I like any governor of Texas for that matter. Newt Gingrich is the smartest guy in the race, but he has too much baggage and I don’t think it would carry over to a general election. In a primary, you’re just not going to get through with that many divorces on your record.
“Everybody seems to like Ron Paul. He’s a cute old man, but he’s pretty far out there on a couple of topics, especially, foreign affairs and Iran and that’s showing in the polls. But everybody likes him, me included. He’s a very likeable guy. He’s intelligent and he speaks clearly.”
It doesn’t look like Sonnen will be endorsing anybody in the near future.
“This particular field is hurting a little bit,” Sonnen said. “There’s always a hope of a third party candidate. We’ll see if that happens.”

I don't think the UFC wants a champion as dumb as him.

I just think he's the only fighter at MW that has the type of style to possibly finish Silva. Sonnen proved that his wrestling works even on a dominant champ like A. Silva, but he doesn't have what it takes to finish him. A strong leg-lock specialist like Paul Harris, however, is like Silva's kryptonite if he can get a hold of him.

Paul Harris looks like the type of guy who won't handle fame well. He'll go on a 7-day Vegas coke bender and will end up in jail after putting a hooker in a leglock/RNC and killing her.
