That's another thing about European women (this is a GENERLIZATION, people), the women there are less attracted to a man based on looks and material posessions than American women are. They don't really care how much money you make or what kind of car you drive. Hell, most don't really care if you even have a car.

Also, all of those things you've been taught since you were a kid about being a gentleman and treating women with respect that doesn't seem to work on American women until they're in their 30's? The rape scene was pretty $#@ing tame compared to what the rest of Irreversible has to offer (Hell I barely remember the rape scene). And if you skip thru the gruesome chapters you can enjoy the second half of the flick for good clean wholesome Monica eye candy.
