That is true. Bowgun would be too expensive for them to use right now.Jangaroo said:I guess since the game just released, people are still getting their groove on. SnS has always been the starter weapon for most players.

Awesome, thanks. Man, is it ever sexy. I really hope they can bundle these here in America. I'll likely sell off a few of my normal classics and pick one of these up soon - now if only they could come with a wired adapter to work with Gamecube titles. That is my dream.Raelson said:

Before that stupid gathering quest there was some awesome stone lizard pwnage though. I guess you just can't predict how things will turn out.
Good to see that I'm not the only one with inventory problems though. I always want to carry more than what is allowed. I blame OCD wrt gathering/crafting.
Man, watching others play is so awesome. Yay internet, yay technology.![]()
Yeah, i noticed that too. :lolCTLance said:Note to self: Mute stream when females are present. They just played around a bit (arm wrestling etc) and the resulting cacophony of grunts and moans of the female PCs was decidedly NSFW if you don't know what's going on... :lol
Kafei said:do you think it would be a bad idea to import this game, or do you think the online would just be abysmal (connecting to japanese gamers)?
Yes there are lobbies full of online players like PSO.autobzooty said:In other words, does this game have a lobby full of lots of online players, similar to, say, Phantasy Star Online Blue Burst?
http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3175444Within the reviews themselves, Famitsu's editors had nothing bad to say at all. "The maps and monsters have been completely remade, making things fresh," one wrote. "The classic Monster Hunter feel grabs you the more you play. Old and new mix equally here, and it's been refined, deepened, and brought to unimaginable heights."
Another writer agreed. "The controls and gameplay has been refined and are pretty kind to players. Exploring the new maps is more fun than I thought it'd be; even hunting for mushrooms is exciting. Of course, hunting the new monsters is a constant stream of surprises, leaving me incredibly satisfied. The unique parts of online mode are good, but the single play here is just amazing." And another: "Although everything here is new, the Monster Hunter atmosphere is unchanged. Underwater hunting is a little bewildering at first, but once you get used to it, the whole hunting process is a little more fun. Lots of little things have been improved upon, and the intensity of running into a monster is unparalleled."

Yes the game deepened and I truly agree.

Haha, I think after you are done with MHF2, you can get ready for MH3 which is maybe another 1000hrs of playtime.CTLance said:Tenbatsu, that's easy for you to say.
It's really amazing how this game made me play MHF2 on the PSP. Tbqh the game didn't appeal to me at all when I tried it for the first time. And the second, third, fourth,... (it's my only PSP game). Now I'm playing it pretty often, and I'm even enjoying much of it.
I'll be properly burnt out from Monster Hunting by the time MH3 gets released around here.![]()
Welcome to MH3!markatisu said:I just got my copy today!![]()
I was talking to some others who said Capcom increased the servers by 2x after launch so there are now 12-18 servers running.
Tenbatsu have you seen that?
Tenbatsu said:Yes there are lobbies full of online players like PSO.
Its similar to PSO. Sp0rsk posted a bunch of videos of them in the other thread, you can take a look.Vilix said:Would you discribe what the lobbies are like?
I put a whole bunch of online videos up on Gamevideos.

No online thou. You need a JP Wii to get online or rather a JP Wii Shop Channel.Ledsen said:you don't need a japanese Wii to play imports, you just need Zelda TP and a memory card.

Ledsen said:Well you can change you Wii Shop Channel to the japanese one using homebrew, although I don't know if there's any risk involved.
markatisu said:You can change your Wii Shop Channel but you will lose everything you ever downloaded on the US side. You basically have to delete your Wii Shop Account as if you were selling your Wii. There are tutorials on how to do it on youtube.
I play co-op with my brother so I wont be going online till the US version comes out
Ledsen said:That actually sounds awesome. I have a european Wii and most of the games on the EU VC are crappy PAL conversions, so I haven't bought any yet. Is there any downside to changing the region of the Shop Channel?
edit: maybe this discussion belongs in the Wii homebrew thread, I'll ask my question there.
The game is now divided into 2 sections, Star quest missions on the left and Moga Forest on the right. Star Quest missions are basically like past MHs while Moga forest is where you collect points for unlocking quests/upgrading village etc. Simply do what the village chief told ya to and you will unlock the Star quest missions.oracrest said:so i have ran around the one hub land a few times, but can't figure out how to start accessing the quests. does anyone know what to do?

Since it's announcement though I've been interested in this, even though I've never played a Monster Hunter game. It's set for 2010 release in the US right?

If I remember correctly, the first thing you need to do is to go find the village chief's son at the run down camping spot. After that you go back to the village and talk to the village chief's son who should be back at the camp and he will tell you to gather some materials for him.oracrest said:are you talking about when you go into the field, and there are a couple of pages of dialogue?
I can't read what it says, but we tried going through and killing everything, to see what would happen. There is a run down camping spot, which I thought maybe you need to gether materials to rebuild it?
anyways, any specific help on what I need to do to unlock star quests would be great!
